  1. Lever set arrived! They came faster than i thought they would so im stoked with that and they look great so not complaining at all Cheers guys!
  2. Finshed mounting the rear guard and indicators and also cut the exhaust up and put that back on. Ordered some things last night, I have a reproduction short front gaurd as well as a sweet lever set, as the ones on there at the moment dont match and look too bulky in my opinion. So hopefully they wont take too long. In any case. Id say its 75% there, it will be rideable once i have a new battery, and check everything is wired correctly. Still planning on possibly getting different bars, new controls, and i also want to look into how to lower it a little as it looks abit odd being so high. Cheers guys! (Edit - changed photo)
  3. Trying to hook up the indicators and break lights whilst im not allowed to weld.. going smoothly so far... i have decided to re-use the aftermarket indicators that were on this already. Just had to paint them as they were disgusting fake carbon shit.. but now theyre just matty B Mint!
  4. Cheers mate i know what you mean. Dont really want to copy anyone but just dont want it to look like a gn (but i guess it doesnt anymore anyway). Took a look at the side covers, could probably cut abit of the edge off to bring it in but that would mean cutting off the tabes that attach them to the bike, so would have to do something about that, but i like your idea definitely gonna look into it further. Thanks heaps
  5. Im also in two minds about weather to keep the side covers or make something less standoutish to cover the side..? What have people done in the past to cover these kind of gaps? Also loving the tank on this one
  6. Cheers dude, i had a look, i like what they do when its has yellow with a black strip and the Ducati within the strip. Like thus ⬇️
  7. Thought i would stick some pics up for insperation and so everyone knows what im going for also taking suggestions for colour scheme - currently think yellow and black as per the last pic. Cheers guys
  8. Thats a good idea actually! Might do the whole seem around base and end of the tank once its painted! Cheers dude!
  9. Bike lost some weight today. Cut off the rear end finally as well as some of the extra bits of shit i dont need on there eg: the passagers foot pegs ect. But there still more to go plus cleaning it all up. Also need to make tabes to mount the rear fender as well as ones to cover the open end of the frame. Managed to tidy some of the wiring under the seat so its not so busy and got rid of the filthy old air box. Only making small progress but im getting more excited to go riding everytime i work on it. Just need to stop going out on the dirtbike instread... Starting to put together a list of parts i need to get as well as jobs still to do. Hopefully in the next week or two things will start coming altogether (just not lookibg forward to wiring). Cheers guys
  10. Have only made small progress as struggling to find time to work on lately, so yesterday i finally got the seat mount officially fnished up, i had to cut abit of the tank just to make everything fit nicely but i think it looks better than i thought i could do so im happy, Next is mounting the rear gaurd. Cheers guys
  11. This pics ar from sunday after i cleaned up for the day. So far ive only put the old bars back on (flipped) and re atteched all the controls. Ive wired up the head light, contrals, gauges and ignition. Mounted the tank and rear number plate holder and also the new speedo. Now i just have to buy a battery, wire up and mount the indicators, mount the seat some how, remount the rear gaurd (because atm its been held with zip ties) and cut the excess rear frame off,cut the exhaust, as well as most importantly ->MAKE IT RUN AGAIN!
  12. Hey everyone havnt been doing much lately towards any of my projects but since ive gotten my ass into gear ive dug this my old gn250 out from the back of the shed. So i brought it about 3-4 yrs ago in order to get my bike lieces (which never happened) but instead, being me i decided change everything and pulled the bike to bits, with no knowhow to finish the job. Following that she was put under a tarp out back and parts were put away. But recently I took on the challenge of clearing enough space in my grandad's shed to bring it inside so i can work on it. Overcoming that ive been able to store / work on it indoors and have acquired some parts in hopes to finish what i started yrs ago! Goals this time is to turn it into so kind of bobber style bike but with little money, skill or experience..... so wish me luck! I didnt get any before photos from when i brought it but it was a completely stock 88 Suzuki gn250 and was absolutely mint! The fist photo is of it when i first got it inside, it still has the 1" drag bar i got when i first got the bike (which dont fit so had to go). And as youll see the state of the shelves in this shed youll realize what i was dealing with to get a work bench and enough floor space to get this inside...
  13. Okay after a long break of having no motivation to do anything I finially got my shit together and slapped the motor in!! I considered it a big deal because I've never swaped an engine out before but i finally got it in. All i have to do now is alot of stuff... and then try start it!! So i took it off the axle stands for a celebratory photo for more motivation
  14. Made a little bit more progress today, finished cleaning the engine, manifold and bits and pieces and got most of it back together. Just have to swap the waterpum, alternater fan and cam belt over to the new moter, put the clutch on and then put it in all back in the car fun times! //oldschool.co.nz/index.php?/topic/54160-greenies-mitsubishi-galant-sigma-discussion/
  15. So made some progress over the weekend toward getting this back on the road. Picked up a 4g54 i scored of Stazza, (shot for the hock up!) So got the old engine out on sunday and started tearing it apart to swap shit onto the other motor. Equiered a list in order to give the new engine some much needed tcl before putting it in. List as is follows; Oil filter Fuel filter Air filter Engine oil G box oil Intake gasket Exhaust gasket Dizzy cap Cluch kit Gasket paper (for water pump) Gasket goo Maniseal And oil stabilizer for later. (Anything i might of forgoten that might help, please let me know!?) Should be enough to be able to give it the best chance of running right Also going to give everything a mad clean before slapping it in. And need to test the alternaters so i can put the better one back on. Used the new shit box i equiered to get the engine home and got the bro Darryl to give us a hand on sunday to get shit done (funny how willing people are to help when free beer is involved) Discussion //oldschool.co.nz/index.php?/topic/54160-greenies-mitsubishi-galant-sigma-discussion/
  16. Cheers mickey but i think it might be abit fether than id like to travel. Plus i think i have sorted and engine out so fingers crossed that goes to plan
  17. Made a MASSIVE rookie mistake yesterday, drove from tauranga to Hamilton without checking the oli before i left so the car started making some horrific noises before i pulled over and put oil in (were i found it was bone dry) but the damage was done and we broke down about 3 times trying to limp home but barely made it out of Hamilton before completely shitting out. So ending the day on the back of a tow truck and now i have some trouble shooting to do to find out whats really gone on and to decided on what is the best way to get it back on the road, be it fixing it or engine swap (but with what!?) //oldschool.co.nz/index.php?/topic/54160-greenies-mitsubishi-galant-sigma-discussion/
  18. Sweet that clears it up, ill take a look at that coz its definitely setting alame bells off as the cause of the smoke. Cheers Damien!
  19. Is it a small plastic box with wires going into the bottom of it? Also how do i tell if its blown? Because i saw that im assuming its the relay but have know idea what im looking at.
  20. HELP NEEDED!?!? so my headlights have gone. I tried to plug my iner headlights in and as soon as i turned them on there was a big puff of smoke at the front near the battery and now my headlights arnt going at all and i am stumped as to why. Ive tested all the wires running to and from the headlights and the switch but they are all fine so im guessing there is a fuse or relay somewhere im not seeing thats blowen or the headlights themselves... HELP!? //oldschool.co.nz/index.php?/topic/54160-greenies-mitsubishi-galant-sigma-discussion/
  21. Okay so i picked up my rear springs last week and even tho it was raining sunday i convinced dad to move one of hes cars out of the shed so i could work inside, and after it taking me less than 5 mins to do the rears it took me about 6 more hrs to figure out the fronts as removing the front strut out of one of these is not as straight forward as anyother car ive seen.. but in any case its done. Its still not as low as id like but its a solid 30-40mm lower so cant complain. Might look into getting the springs compressed later but for now itll do Discussion here //oldschool.co.nz/index.php?/topic/54160-greenies-mitsubishi-galant-sigma-discussion/
