  1. After all that work you have done and looking that good I wouldn't sell it but if you have to make sure you sell it to some one who appreciates Fords and of cause Cortina's Cheers Parbhu
  2. Got my Cortina a new steering wheel I think will look great with the wood effect dash, the brand is saas not cheap when you count the boss kit but what the hell. Will post pics when it's on the Cortina
  3. {\rtf1\ansi\ansicpg1252 {\fonttbl\f0\fswiss\fcharset0 Helvetica;} {\colortbl;\red255\green255\blue255;\red0\green0\blue0;\red255\green255\blue255;} \deftab720 \pard\pardeftab720\sa320\qc\partightenfactor0 \f0\fs22 \cf2 \cb3 \expnd0\expndtw0\kerning0 \outl0\strokewidth0 \strokec2 \ }Don't know why the pics are sideways??? But anyway this is how they are arranged now and ready to go in the Cortina for good.

  5. {\rtf1\ansi\ansicpg1252 {\fonttbl\f0\fswiss\fcharset0 Helvetica;} {\colortbl;\red255\green255\blue255;\red0\green0\blue0;\red255\green255\blue255;} \deftab720 \pard\pardeftab720\sa320\qc\partightenfactor0 \f0\fs22 \cf2 \cb3 \expnd0\expndtw0\kerning0 \outl0\strokewidth0 \strokec2 \ }The final result how the gauges are sitting now, top left corner where yellow tap is had to be ground down ( note the bulb holder sits at bottom on that gauge). Won't make that much of a differance, maybe only the way it's illuminated.
  6. If any of you guys think of making up this centre console for your Cortina, because I don't want to put you wrong the top left hand gauge in the GT cluster the back part of the gauge has to be turned upside Down so the illumination bulb is at the bottom and then you have to take off a little at the top. Good luck with your projects guys what ever make of car it may be.
  7. Have changed the gauges around in the GT gauge cluster since these pics were taken to fit the dash better as there is not much room at the top for gauges to fit, just had trouble fitting the top left hand gauge so just had to turn the back part of that gauge upside down so the bulb holder is at the bottom then trim that one at the top. Better than hacking out the dash. The other top right hand gauge is ok as that is near the hole were the ashtray normally go's. Also had to scrap the factory wiring loom and install Mk5 GL loom. As the looms come in two parts in all Mk3/4/5 Cortina's one for inside and rear of the car and the other one for the engine bay I was going to use both looms out of the same GL but the engine bay loom was not that good of a condition as some of the wires had been cut so I had a good Mk5 Ghia one lying around so used that instead. Steering column is from a Mk5 too beacause I wanted / needed to fit Mk5 storks.
  8. Sorry about the way I uploaded this, the text and everything didn't come out the way I wanted it but it was my first time. Basically that is 2 door mk3 with how far I have got with it. Original slopping dash taken out and dumped. Mk5 Ghia dash installed. Aussie TE Cortina centre console modified to take Mk3 GT gauges. Mitsubish Sigma power windows installed, switches fitted in console as with the choke cable. Still lots of work to do with the two door.
  9. Fitted Ford 302w and c4 trans to my 2 door Mk3. For stopping power, fitted Princess 4 pots and Capri vented discs, Falcon XA master cylinder and new lines all round. Because I fitted a Mk1 Cortina GT centre console to my last Mk3, that turned out very good I wanted to do the same to my two door as will and came up with the idea of using a Australian TE Cortina centre console this time as it will look good with the Mk5 Cortina dash and fit the Mk3 GT gauge cluster to it. Changed the original factory slopping dash in my 1972 Mk3 which I didn't like very much and fitted a Mk5 Cortina dash and this is what it looks like. Looking good just a trial fit of the centre console but looks way better than the factory slopping dash. Used the GL dash gauge cluster as it's got the clock in the centre. The rev counter and speedo is out of Mk5 Ghia V6. Looks better than the factory preface lift I think. Happy the way that it came out. Let me know what you guys think of the mods.
  10. I just love the shape of the Mk3 Cortina and I have owned them for a long time. The first one I had was a 1974 2000E 4 door which I spent a lot of $ on and unfortunately was stolen. That Cortina was fitted with 302w and c4 with a Borgwaner diff. I fitted a modified Mk1 GT Cortina centre console with 4 gauges and switches for front power windows out of a Mitsubishi Sigma to that car and also had lots of other mods. My second Mk3 Cortina is a 1972 English two door XL. This one is more or less the same as my 2000E with 302w and c4 and Borgwaner diff but this time I am doing more to it like fitting it with a Mk5 dash, with the dash gauge cluster that has the clock in the centre and replacing the fuel and temp gauge with a factory Mk5 rev counter. I did not like the slopping dash at all. Fitted Mk5 power steering and 4 pot Princess callipers with Capri vented discs and XA Falcon brake master cylinder. This time I used a TE Australian Cortina centre console and modified that to fit Mk3 GT gauge cluster up the top and stereo below, and also fitted two Mitsubish switches for the front power windows in the console.
  11. Hi, Not to sure how this website works and how to post pics as I am new to this website. Other wise I would post pics. The two door needs a bit more work as have started a lot of things but have not completed yet. The body needs some work too but for the age it has very little rust. Cheers Parbhu
  12. Hi, I seen your Cortina on trademe, it is realy nice the way it's done. The flares and the front spoiler look great and the way the centre console is done is very clever. I have also got a Mk3 but mine is a English 1972 two door XL. I also made a centre console for my mk3 using Mk3 GT gauge cluster. But the way I went was I used the console out of a Austrailan TE Cortina and modified that to suit the GT gauges. I did have the sloping dash in my Mk3 but did not like that so I got the dash out of Ml5 and fitted that and used the dash gauge cluster that has the clock in the centre and fitted the Cortina Rev Counter on the left hand side where it had the fuel and temp gauge. Cheers Parbhu
