Correct.  Fairly sure it was yarned about in this piner thread when it was for sale in the Waikato area I think.

There was an identical one to this that went from Nelson to Mazda Aussie... maybe 8 or so years back... original but had rust issues and it was restored... they reckon the one above has original paint??

  2. Group C flares - smaller than the Katayama circuit racing ones.  Someone in Malaysia was selling metal ones for a while, and I think some ended up over here for various projects?  Someone will have them gathering dust in the shed.

  3. Yep great memories,

They weren't that sought after back in the day - took a while to sell... could leave it anywhere and no one would think about nicking it.  Had lots of fun trying to work out the top speed, but on stock suspension was not a great handler... took it to a club day at Teretonga for some circuit racing... passed all the Datto's on the main straight, and then they would pass me on the twisty bits.  Agree re the interior, real shame, it's not ideal... finding a stock interior will be next to impossible.  Regardless, it is a cool car - if you ever decide to sell drop me a line lol ;-)

If you want any more pic's of it, drop me a line.

There's a bloke up my way (Te Horo) who stores things in a long-decommissioned chicken shed (concrete floor, well cleaned out) for $20 a week. I have one of mine in there. It's getting fairly full but he may have room for another.

I am in the process of shifting to Te Horo... awesome place - and a few classics tucked away from what I have seen

I'm struggling to look after my three or four vehicles to make sure they are driven enough to keep things fresh. It'd be a full time job keeping even half of those in running order fuel/brakes-wise.

This might be a different thread, but what is the ideal sized collection... I have the same issue rotating the fleet for some road time.  Collecting is one thing, keeping them road ready is another.

The brown (?) 4 coupe UWISHN is Tim Woods unless he sold it recently?  Was a shed find from Hamilton...

I'm on that side also and if you take an 8 owner for a drive in a 7 they lose their mind.

The 8 handles better than the 7 (even better than an MX5)... but the 7 is faster, and way nicer on the eye.

You do get a lot of fun for the price of an RX8 (just not the street cred, if that is your thing).
