  1. Bit of the old grease on the top of the IDA filter then lower the bonnet gently down, capturing the initial lower outline of where the cut needs to be. I need to get a couple extra bits to complete this like the thin black trim for the hole edge. My original red bonnet will remain mint so that I can chop and change the look at will. I noticed it was vibrating towards the front at 100km therefore I had a good look at it when I got home. The factors glue holding the frame to the skin was separating. Now we pumped a load of Wurth glue in the areas of concern and it all should be sweet after the glue tacks off.
  2. So this happened today - purists please look away. I have a spare RX2 s2-3 bonnet that has just been gagging to have an IDA hole cut into it.... this was the result
  3. Taken it out twice - both times weather looked good and both times it totally shat itself raining. Bring on summer
  4. Weather put me off taking it to Chrome today. Took it for a hoon about town and it didn’t miss a beat. The blue 808 (mates) got a new turbo last night and was put to work on the track.
  5. I will be driving there for a park up weather dependent. Hoping it’s fine
  6. Well today the car passed the compliance recheck and I now have 12 months REG and 6 months WOF. Thanks to those that have helped me during the build. Now it’s time to relax and enjoy the old sled. Beer o’clock for me I will be parked up at chrome this weekend weather permitting. Come say hi.
  7. The cert plate in riveted to the car. Now to finish the compliance and then enjoy
  8. Cheers man. Will see how I get on. Gagging to drive it
  9. Cheers JP - it’s been a long ass road. I just want to drive it now and generally fang the b’jesus out of it
  10. Car passed cert today - awaiting Cert plate. You beauty
  11. So here is one hell of an update for y’all.... Clint came over for the final cert check this morning and it passed! I’m now awaiting the cert plate (up to 10 working days) then it’s back to compliance for the plates. Hope to be legal for the Burger King meet on the 13th. beer o’clock oh - small update...cut up the original gear stick and welded it to the rude short shift stick. It now shifts a lot smoother. I will cut and rethread it by like 5cm to be at the perfect length.
  12. Been super busy at work etc lately so it’s hard to finish it all off. Will keep you all posted on the progress. Winter cruising is just around the corner.
  13. Pretty sure the hand brake is working all sweet after some shortening! Will be booking the next available Cert check and then it’s back to the compliance centre to complete the process and gain plates.
  14. I have S5t rx7 gearbox and that’s throwing it out somewhat. Might do me some reading on ausrota - for now the stickers are fine.
  15. So 4 things needed to fix for cert (1) Wheel alignment - print out emailed for cert (2) bump stops on the rear struts - done (3) speedo stickers made as my calibration is 17% out. (4) hand brake cable - we tried spacing them out however the rear sections are just too long. I’m booking it into a professional outfit hopefully next weekend so I can get custom hand brake cable made. Then thats cert sorted and compliance also as I need a working handbrake. It’s only money aye
  16. Cert recheck today Passed the drive test and the 5x 100km brake test too. Let me tell you it was loving the fang today and performed spot on. It was the first time going over 50km haha so I had my beady eyes on the temp gauge The only remaining things to do are: 1) supply the alignment print out (repair cert person has this so will need another copy printed) 2) add 2 rear bump stops - ordering tomorrow from a George Stocks 3) tighten hand brake (this needs to be done for the compliance also) 4) the speedo is out 15-20km. I need to apply custom stickers to the speedo corresponding to the correct speed increments eg 120km is actually 100km Legal cruising is so close I can taste it.
  17. RX4 steelies are on with a little taller white walls of 70 series vs the 65 on my previous steelies. Fouled the plugs this weekend and got brand new plugs. Will put more conservative jets in tomorrow and hopefully stops the plugs fouling. Ive drive It 10km EVER so I’m still feeling it out day by day.
  18. Rear diff brake line bracket moved and brakes bled. Last job is adjust hand brake you beauty
  19. Another cert job ticked off the list - secured the 2 petrol tank vent pipes. I also remade made a rear brake bracket and prepped the diff for welding it back on. Another job potentially ticked off the list.
  20. Cheers mate - I have a few heater assemblies here if I ever get the need. I might put in an electric one under the dash if it comes to it.
  21. Cheers Alex - I need to somehow clear coat the metal parts as I don’t want to encourage the rust back to it haha. Patina - you just can’t buy it
  22. Cheers pal - the patina is cool aye. Thanks for the comment - it sounds nice and crisp in he flesh too. Still needs a good tune and a decent fanging for good measure. Mase-rx is me on Snapchat if anyone is interested. I post a few vids etc on there too.
