The only advice I have about putting pods on is to make sure you send the money on quality k&n ones or similar and make sure they're the right dimensions to fit in the frame.
Also read up about re jetting the carbs as you may need to do that.
Looks like it will be a great project tho.

Pretty sure theres a white one of these rolling round Whangarei... Might be wrong maybe one of the other member from up here can confirm, I just remember seeing it and thinking it was a double cab haha. Bad ass trucks tho.
-
I did think about 3d printing, though i have no clue what CAD is or how to do it haha.

Hey I've got a qt-50 moped but the speedo doesn't work on account of the drive gear wearing out.
It's exactly like this. http://m.ebay.com/itm/321409972425?nav=SEARCH
Anyway I was wondering if any of the other yamaha mopeds have the same drive... I can't find any info on it and I don't want to spend a
Fortune on the one in the auction haha.
Cheers

Quick pic of my bike again, seats off and center stand back on... its soo much easier working on a bike with center stand.
I have new indicators (not l.e.d) on the way and im going to mount the number plate and tail light either on a small rear fender or straight onto the frame like in the above pics. Also im going to buy an antigravity or similar battery to tuck under seat more, plus i hate lead acid batteries.
Once I have the new bits and pieces and rebuild the brake master on the front it should be sweet for wof.

Another yellow chappy.

I haven't done it but from what I've read on kiwi biker is quicker and easier than the restricted test.
-
Haha^ agree
-
Thanks for clearing that up Llama.
I wonder if that cuts down on the fail rate for restricted tests.
-
Damn nice!
-
Hmmm I'm a bit confused... After completeing a cbta do you still have to do the practacle road test with aa or other testing place? It says you take the cert to apply for the licence.
-
On a side note new rules for bike license means you can go from start to finish in 12months if you do it right!
Please explain haha
-
I have another bike and I HATE having my licence say learners. Wish I didn't sell my 250.
-
Well I've decided I'll keep this bike. I'll most likely leave it on tm and if someone wants to pay my price so be it but I'm just going to do bits at a time and do it properly.
Id rather keep it than sell it for less than it's worth haha.
-
Oh true where did you do the test? I'll just look into that. There's no point having a bike I have to pay rego and warrent on as I won't ride it all that much. I did end up buying a scooter tho haha
-
Seeing as there are some licence test questions on here I might as well use this thread.
I'm looking at getting something like a fa50 or v50 or similar, can anyone say for certain you can do restricted test on one?
Cheers

Dam nice bike there!
Looks great even tho I had to turn puta upside down to see haha...
-
That one would be a pretty sweet project if you scored it for nothing tho!
-
There's a way better one than that on tm.
-

I have a Suzuki racing Lucky Strike patch similar to the one on my vest for sale $10.

Im soo torn with this bike, part of me wants to sell it and part of me wants to throw money at it.
Theres alot of things i want to change and upgrade but unless I get another bike to do licence on theres no point
-
Nice project! I love the notch back ae85 too!
-
Yeah my mate has a '91 dt200 and it has usd forks so unless someone upgraded the front at some stage its definitely early 90s.

Ive been doing little bits to this bike here and there but still no real interest in it haha.
New indicators, tail light and tail light bracket... Chopped down the pods on the outer carbs to prevent frame rub.
I just need to suss the battery and wiring situation, rebuild or replace the front brake master then go for a wof.
