the 20-30mm roundslide mikunis are cheap too, a few on TM. the ones that usually come on pit bike engines - most have a filter and manifold with them
-
The carb on these are intended for fixed rpm I found. Didn't react well to quick throttle changes.
Flatslide!! theyre cheap as chips on aliexpress..20USD etc for a 30mm keihin copy (OSO, PWK etc)

drivetrain-wise, would there be enough room to do something like this?? separate pitbike gearbox running off belt drive to the flywheel/pulley...
http://www.pipeburn.com/home/2013/01/13/brenton-newtons-honda-ct110-bobber.html
fair amount of engineering/winging it to get a good fit, but the separate gearbox could be cool.
otherwise you can get new variators/torque converters on TM - like the TAV2 ones or golf cart ones.
youtubed that engine lol sounds awesome

try an AG100 tank, i reckon theyre pretty mint
-
bigger carb time?
-
i think they can fit up to 3.0x17 - depends on the front guard and suspension height
-
Pretty pricey but they sound and look so good
-

Yeah man, if the bore looks good you can get new rings etc for fuck all $$ to freshen it up

There's 60cc kits around for these too.
beat me to it haha

Have I got the right idea about the compression? Just whip the head off and see whats going on?
yeah probably means worn loose-ish rings? hopefully its not all slappy but a rebore is pretty cheap. you can get top end big bore kits for them pretty easy too.
clean the carb first - dunno if theyre points or CDI but check points if it has them. Carb + points will be most of your starting issues sorted

turbo-wise small ones of like a charade / kei car suzuki etc or even a low pressure one off a golf maybe? could try source an actual bike one but theyd be moonbeams
-
Superchargers could be a cheaper option than messing with EFI etc, lots of cool small aisin ones on TM for 300ish. make the flywheel into a pulley etc?
Old mate at elsberg-tuning.dk does them on honda 50 engines etc
-
Aliexpress has carbs cheap as chips. chinese dellortos or mikunis etc etc whatever sizer you want. surely chinese carbs cant be tooo bad, theyre simple enough to start with.
You could try 1977 mopeds or treatland etc but shipping sucks arse from US
-
any updates on this or any of the others? keen. chur
