  1. Thick mix of gear oil and brake dust has covered everything
  2. Having the right puller makes everything so much easier!
  3. Managed to get back down to Dunedin to work on the old car. When I took it for a warrant a while back now it failed on a leaky wheel cylinder among other things.I managed to source a pair of cylinders off ebay cheap which was great, only to pull off the drum to find this mess. Oil seal, not brake cylinder. That would explain the brake performance......
  4. Okay things have been quiet lately - final exams mean no time for cars sadly. Anyway, back in Dunedin for a week so got the Sabre out for a second attempt at wof (new brake cylinders on the way from England). Sorting through some bits lead to finding more NOS parts including what could be the shiniest original Skoda hubcap in existance, and a front bumper still wrapped from the factory. Even found the original Sabre badge that I thought had been lost years ago! Will get the tyres fitted on Monday and hopefully get the cylinders fitted mid-week in time for a wof on Thursday. After consulting workshop manuals for the Sabre and the later 110 series I have concluded I can swap the front end out from this car for a disc brake one I have. Will do the swap over Christmas, want to get it all painted etc before fitting. Cherry on the cake is the NOS calipers which means no messing about getting things relined (an expensive route I went down with my 110L last year).
  5. $2.95 on Trademe very well spent. Pretty tatty but complete and from the model's launch in 1964.
  6. May well have done, I'm not sure how the plates systems worked back then. I originally thought it was just based on year but apparently it has to do with where they were originally registered too. That one is out near the Waimakariri river apparently (Chch). As much as I want to save bits from it I know I shouldn't, I already have a set of rust free doors for one I need to get rid of haha!
  7. Seeing that colour and HS plate made me think it could have been this one! I was right with the HS start at least..
  8. Also re: wheels, I was thinking of going back to 14s as I found a set of NOS hubcaps and chrome looks good on this car. Was thinking of getting a set of 14s widened to see what it would look like. I'm going to try to get some bits from that Marshlands Road site that's all over facebook at the moment, seems to be heaps of 110s there in the background of photos but they only want to sell complete cars
  9. Haha, yeah one of the Barriest of Skoda Barrys. I recently found some more NOS parts for it. The little C-pillar park light lenses, tail light and other stuff. Want to put them on but also hate risking the nice looking NOS parts when the ugly faded ones are doing their job.
  10. Cheers, I met a guy in Dunedin recently with an immaculate 110r with a 1300cc + 5 speed conversion - Super envious, I love them too haha. I also met a guy last year North of Christchurch with an original Coupe that was in roadworthy condition. There's a few around still but hard to find in decent condition!
  11. Link to build thread above. Like to hear ideas, feedback, questions etc!
  12. LINK TO DISCUSSION: Okay so I've been on the site for a while but contributed very little to date so here it is. This is my 1969 Skoda Sabre (1000MB outside of NZ), was my Grandfathers and comes with lots of parts. Rego is currently on hold, failed its wof a few weeks ago on tyres and a leaking brake cylinder and it should be back on the road in a few months. Plans are to convert to 5-speed (have a gearbox waiting) and potentially get a 1300cc motor from a Favorit too. All long-ish term plans subject to time, space, money etc so they might change. First though will be to swap out the existing front axle for a later 110L model to get front disc brakes and to do some interior work like headlining, carpets etc. Anyway here are some recent photos.
  13. No worries, I'll message you my details and for the 110, It will be mostly original. I wouldn't mind some decent alloys for it and maybe small things like electronic ignition but we'll see. At the moment I'm just getting all of the hydraulics either reconditioned or replaced.
  14. I've got one of those already haha. Do you want a parts catalog? They are pretty helpful, have good exploded views etc. I ended up with 3 a few years ago, it's the same as this one: https://www.google.co.nz/search?q=skoda+100+parts+catalog&espv=2&biw=1366&bih=667&source=lnms&tbm=isch&sa=X&ved=0CAYQ_AUoAWoVChMIguy3r4i_yAIViRuUCh2PygCp#imgrc=stHiEIKTldpGiM%3A
  15. Hey, great find you've got there! These cars are getting rarer and rarer now! How long has it been sitting for? I recently bought a 1978 110L that's been off the road since 1995 and I'm in the process of doing up. It's good to see someone bringing another one back to life and in the same area!
