  1. no that good to know lol I figured someone has tried some crazy stuff to test out the reliability
  2. I just want to thank you guys for the replies and the info you have been a great help already and very patient with my questions I have been looking for a forum that didn't just freak out and call you stupid or tell you to read a 5 page write up on something you were not asking about. I really do appreciate it.
  3. Not that I am afraid to deal with wiring more so if there is a easier set up I will definitely try to go that route first to cut out some of the hassle . . It is as much a learning experience as it is a project car for me to learn on . Its a fairly simple car from what I have seen that is kind of the reason for picking it as my first major project.
  4. http://www.diyautotune.com/catalog/megasquirtpnp-c-40.html This seams to be a real simple set up to get started . from what I read it takes a lot of the wiring issue out. what are your thought on this
  5. not to be a noob but this is my first go at a turbo car and engine rebuild so I am still learning what all these are I have very basic knowledge of engines and plan on using the factory manual help me through it until the set up for the turbo then I will be on the forum I am sure . Just trying to get the necessary and correct parts figured out so I am not trying to while I am building .
  6. found some twin scroll turbos at a reasonable prices on ebay for the manifold what should I expect to pay round about.
  7. For the ecu and wide band what would you recommend . the new megasquirt seems like it is a good deal lots of upgrades over the old one also how about a turbo out of a audi or Mitsubishi eclipse will they work or should I just buy new.
  8. is there anything I should upgrade like oil pump or anything like that from the 4agze engine. should I change the pistons to a lower compression piston or better quality.
  9. I can buy a complete engine on ebay for 1800 with the super charger . I will have the engine on a engine stand then I can do a rebuild on it from there while I drive the car . It will go up as soon as the first snow flake flies any way . I will work on the engine over winter and hopfully by spring ready to put it in the car . I shouldn't have to do to much to the engine they say it only has around 50,000 miles on it so it should be good . will compression check the cylinders. should I have to replace anything on the motor that may cause a issue with the added HP? also comes with the transmission.
  10. so buying a complete motor is definitely the way to go .. also are you saying not to buy a mega squirt ecu or are they ok?
  11. not sure I have read the N/A ecu is good for 15lbs of boost also read that the super ecu sucks so I don't know who to believe
  12. I meant rebuilt lol I am going to either buy a block and build a engine ground up or buy the 4agze and sell the super charger and use the rest with a turbo instead.. just figured I can drive it while I rebuild a new improved motor and slap it in when finished. Looking to do it the easiest way possible honestly.
  13. Yup I have a 1986 Toyota mr2 Its a remanufactured motor but its a N/A motor want something faster and that I can throw more power into.
  14. yes I am in the US I didn't see this one thanks.
  15. is 1900 dollars expensive for a 4agze with 45000 miles on them. there are 2 on ebay
