  1. Build thread here = //oldschool.co.nz/index.php?/topic/40379-1971-triumph-herald-1360/

Good to see another triumph being saved, but geeze it looks like dirty mike and they boys had a soup kitchen in there. Where did you rescue that from/ have you already pulled the engine or did it not come with one?. Will be interesting to see the condition of the body work once you strip it

that one on the widened steels looks pretty sweet, reminds me of the old anglia race cars etc on wide rims, cant say ive seen a herald look so good

  2. If you want cheap Nardi's, swapmeets are the places to look. The black one in my post I paid $60 for, it's like new. I have a wood one that used to be in the Datsun that I paid $25 for at a swapmeet, just gotta keep your eyes peeled.

wanna sell me the woodgrain one for my trumpet? i reckon it would look the biz and make the steering not so damn massive, for more than 25 obviously

  3. Well might as well show my wee offroad project. 1994 suzuki samurai, has a few mods, and a few still to come.

    so far -

    -1600 injected motor from escudo

-Old man emu lifted springs and shocks

    - 1.5" guard chop or "virtual lift" (keeps COG low, which these need)

    - Endless air using front bar as tank and sanden AC compressor

    - 33x10.5r14 silverstone extreme tyres on custom flipped 15x8 roh steels with balancing beads

    - custon front and rear bar (not quite finished)

    - custon draw set up

    - recaro fishnet seats

    - guages for rice factor

    - power steering

    still to come

    -front diff moved forward

    - flat pan spring hangers

-rock lobster transfer case (almost finished)

    - rear discs with fiddle brakes

and prob a few other goodies.

  4. Well im a pretty happy lad, THE BLUE PI RUNS!. The guy i brought it off was being a giant douche and totally reckon the metering unit was stuffed cos he has spent a week trying to get it to go and had put half a tank of fresh gas in it all new plugs and filter etc so stuff him haha. The body itself is really straight with no rust but the boot and bonnet are a bit rusty.

Cheers to Goat on the advice to get it running,  i took all the plugs out, pulled a couple of injectors out and just winded it for about ten minutes until the injectors started squirting nicely and then some. Banged plugs back in a broom away she went. Still only running on 5 but it was running. So drove it off trailer and straight into storage. Got told no conversions till after the weeding but i reckon i might be able to squeeze this one in before :-)

  5. regards to that hitachi one my mate has one and ive borrowed it on several occasions. Its pretty angry and all or nothing but does the job alright. But ya watch out or it will catch ya out, need a very firm grip with two hands as it has heaps of tourqe and will just about break ya wrist if not careful. It is quite big and bulky when wanting to do finiky stuff, personally i prefer a good pneumatic one

  6. So i wanted to give it a full resto but a bit of a rushed one as im flat out at uni, just have to have a project. So i stripped her down one night, got some meguairs metal polish which with a scourer pad managed to save all the chrome except the rear rim. Got my flatmate to beadblast all the painted bits for me. Found a NOS rim which is rare as they are a pretty obsolete size. Only gay thing is its brushed allow so no chrome look, o well ill keep the orignial for a one day when i get around to it thing.

Took all the to be painted bits to action powder coaters in hornby, they owner there is a legend, looked after me so well, we went with a silver base with a lucent gold to start with which was close to the original colour. Unfortunatley the lucent gold is a tinted clear and its hard for them to know how thick it is when its in powder form and this resulted in some really brown spots and really silver spots, it looked terrible but in the bits it looked good it looked awesome. Well we was more than happy to repaint it for me so i chose the only other gold they had which was "antique gold". it turned out alright, not quite what i was after but it has grown on me and def has a retro look about it. Got the bike all back together, had the rear rim laced up at the bike shop. Front one is on the piss, not buckled, just slanting on the piss, its still rideable so will get done at some stage.got a sticker kit off ebay. Im happy with the result, now i can cruise around uni in style.

  7. So ive always liked raleigh 20's as my gran had a gold one and we always used to ride it as kids. It dissapeared somewhere after the moved into a unit and now as they are both dead i have no hope in finding it so i went a brought one of some weird old fellow. It was named siliva, Something to do with the weird gollywog ontop of the light. Needless to say that is def going back on as its pretty rad. So here she is, photo makes it look better, its actually quite rusty.
