I went for my bike license on an early yellow tank Ag100. The cop would give you a route to ride and he would follow you. When we got back he asked me if it went any faster ? said you can only do the speed limit in town and he replied " yeah, well you weren't even close to it". Farm gearing sounded like it was going faster I guess ?

A geezer on old minibikes.com pointed out it won't work the way I have it as the drum will spin but not the hub. I need to put the clutch on the wheel side of the jackshaft.

I'm fluffing round with a kart for the kids. I am putting a clone chonda on and there is limited room around the seat. Can I put a sprocket on the crankshaft and run the clutch off of the jack shaft ? Seems like it would still work like this to me, but I have had a few great ideas at times that had a flaw.

Was gonna annoy me that i couldn't find the magazine with the swap info in it. Have a look for Australian Street Rodding magazine #109 July?August 1996, has all the details for you. It should be on their back issue list.

Aussies use these in all sorts of vehicles. Look up some Aus hot rod forums. I think you can use the later bigger stub and brake setup or use HQ Holden stubs/brakes with a drop of location for the top a arm, uses a commodore rack too from memory. I had a complete setup a while back to put in my XP falcon but went back with the Falcon susupension for ease.

In my experience with shocks, the finish is usually pretty thin and i have sanded off any paint. The remaining paint in the lettering comes off easy with a wire brush, A coat of primer and whatever colour on top will see them better than factory applied finish. Standard masking tape round the shaft will be fine.

Run over them with some 800 w&d with soapy water, then a cloth buff on a drill with autosol. My wards were scruffy as fuck, so roloced them to get rid of the stains then wet & dryed them before a good rogering with autosol, came out really shiny and after a year or so have only just started to dull off. You should have arksed me when you were in this arvo.

Not a bad 3 day rummage around. Got to meet some new faces of old schoolers. Bought a km48 Sachs, a bunch of ammo boxes, a nice mecjar keg, a Carter afb, a bunch of Street rodding magazines and a few other bits. Was looking for a nice original Seagull, most were around $200 to $250.00 but had odd wingnuts or Bodgey fixes. An old guy yesterday morning unloaded quite a nice one as we were walking by. Had a yabber and he mentioned the price would be around the $200.00 mark. Done the rounds and went back to see $350.00 on it, the fucker wouldn’t budge below $300.00 so I left it with him.

I spot a engine tucked away in the shed there.
Yeah, 5hp Briggs came with it, but I have a few Tecumseh engines which is what was in it years ago. Will fit the kickstart again I bought recently.
