  1. OK so its been too long since I updated this thread but here goes.

So a lot has happened since last updating and things have changed slightly.

I finished the all rust repairs using hand made pieces and also some sections from a donor for the more difficult areas.

The front brakes have now been upgraded to Wilwood 4 piston calipers and 2 piece rotors and BC AE86 coilovers.

The car is fully painted on the underside and in the cabin

I built this cool little engine stand to allow single person installation of the motor and gearbox from underneath the car.

  2. Thats good to know nothingsfree, I've got my front end apart at the moment so it might be worth doing the sump mod now while I've got it apart to change the timing belt.

BTW This thing is off the hook, cant wait to see some video of it running. Enjoy yours travels!!

  3. So I had Todd from Signature SwayBars come round the other day to measure up a custom 22mm front swaybar. After some discussion about routing we settled on a fairly simple design as seen in the pic below.

    post-10705-0-84868200-1360978752_thumb.jpg

There was a few issues with this route which included the oil filter location and oil pressure sender location, both of which made it difficult to route the sway bar. You can see this in the photo below.

So I had to look at moving both. The oil pressure sender was easy, I just put a 90deg elbow into the block to move the sender into a vertical position.

The oil filter was also an easy solution, I purchased an Aeroflow remote oil filter relocation kit and installed. This solved two problems which were the sway bar route and also not being able to change the oil filter without removing the castor rod mount. The following photos are of it installed, I haven't finalized the filter location yet so it looks a bit funny but should look a bit better when I finish it.

  4. Cheers Ned, yeah they are a sweet motor (not that I've had heaps to do with them, just what I've read and the potential I've witnessed in mine and a mates KE20 race car). Its been a long haul but its finally starting to come together. Thanks for the encouragement!! Definitely spurs me on to get it finished :)

  5. KE11 3SGE Beams

    Hi guys and girls,

I only found this page the other day and thought I'd sign up and share my pride and joy. 6. Hi,

Just want to say awesome work on your KE70!!! I am very impressed with the work you doing. I am currently building a KE11 with a 3SGE Beams engine and I am very interested in your oil pan mod. Have you had any road/track experience with this setup yet and how much oil capacity did it remove from the system after this mod??? I also need to raise the pan up for clearance issues and think this could possibly be the way to go without building a new pan.

    Thanks

    Luke

    PS. Need more updates :)
