Yea I'm Brisbane. Will look at interior later on. Need to find some widened steelies. Do you know if it's difficult changing to sedan disk brakes up front and stud pattern all round?
-
Thanks mate. Yea their prices are pretty steep but might go for a look, it's only down the road from me. Might get a few bits cheaper if he's closing down.

Hey taistorm, I'll let you know about those guards once I get further into the build. Loving your build by the way.
You should get in quick with Phils rotarys, as apparently he is closing down.

So got bored and needed something to tinker round on. I was after an old Datsun ute (1200 or 521) but this popped up and was complete. After a few texts to the owner and him not wanting to budge on price, his Mrs had finally had enough of it sitting round, so he gave in.
Plans at this stage are getting it running sweet, sort the brakes, lower and probably widen the steelies at this stage. The stud pattern is 5x110, same as volvos and some saabs apparently. Holden torana wheels fit as well (5x108)
Anyway pictures.

hey not much really, just a VL commodore fuel pump with a malpassi rising rate regulator plus return line to tank. Running around 4-5 psi fuel pressure. The carbs were easy because the lotus elan came out factory dellorto turbo, so you can buy all the neoprene carb sealing kits off ebay, plus the special carb top caps. The manifold is just made up from steam pipe bends. Cheers for the comments.

Thanks mate. Was looking someone a little closer to Christchurch or Timaru. But will keep him in mind. Cheers.

Bugger, knew I should've just bought a stock one! so basically I can't run the idle control?
Would it be best to be running a 6m ecu even if it has 5m wiring loom?

Pick up Brisbane haha.
Yea someone did the conversion before I got it. For some reason there's no wiring for the idle air control?

Laugh at me here

Just picked up a cressida. Needed a comfortable daily driver so this fitted my needs.
Plans for it so far are
Smaller tyres
Heaps of low
Get it running 100%
Already has the 14x7 and 14x8 SSR mesh wheels, so will stick with these for now.

Looking sharp! Sometimes I use a smear of grease to mask things when I paint fiddley bits. Then just paint and wipe the grease off after.

Love it!

Na I'm in Aussie so it's cream interiors and 18 inch Simmons haha. Cheers guys. Pretty happy with it

I personally think they are cheap. Get tidy ones around the 1-2 grand mark. Same with ke70s. Datsuns and mazdas seem to be about the same as NZ. Rego is a kick in the dick though, $405 for 6 months!

Yea pretty limited with either 4x110 or 5x110, but at least with 4x110 old JDM wheels pop up sometimes. Ill have a look on some facebook pages.
Id be keen on your disk brake setup but id imagine the frieght to Brisbane would be a killer?
