  1. So slow progress in the new year.. Managed to tidy up the crap that had built up around the engine, and scored some cheap engine spray paint. Don't think it looks too bad in blue. Also made the engine bay the same colour as the rest of the car. Next up time to buy some new seals for the engine and try get it put back together..
  2. Finally got around to buying a block and tackle and decided to tidy up the engine bay a bit. Didn't think it went too bad considering it's the first engine I've pulled out of a car.. I'll see where it goes from here, first step is to get everything out of the engine bay and paint it black to match the rest of the car. Get some new seals etc. for the engine and give it a general tidy up. Looking nice and empty Hopefully will get a good start on it after christmas!
  3. Yeah whoever did the flares initially didn't really do a good job of it. Quite a few things weren't done very well actually. I'll probably try tidy the flare up a bit if I get the chance, but I'm not much of a panelbeater unfortunately..
  4. Feel free to comment on my KE30 here! //oldschool.co.nz/index.php?/topic/35483-ke30-matts-1978-ke30/
  5. Gidday everyone, I've been reading through the forums for a while and finally decided to share a couple of my projects. Discussion Here --> //oldschool.co.nz/index.php?/topic/35484-ke30-matts-1978-ke30/ The main one I'm playing around with at the moment is this KE30 which I bought last year. Used to be a daily driver but got green stickered before I bought it (cut springs) so I picked it up with plans to get it back on the road, and maybe learn a thing or two along the way. Heres a couple of pics from after I bought it home. It's currently running a 5k, I drove it around the block a couple of times and seemed quite smokey. After checking the oil I found it was really milky, so pulled the head off and found the head had a bit of corrosion, and had blown the head gasket. I'm waiting on a 4k head to replace it at the moment as not too sure how much it'll cost to recondition the 5k head. I've attempted to repair some of the rust that's around the car, and have painted it matt black (just a spray can job though) so it looks alot better than when I picked it up. While I've been looking for a replacement head I did a bit of DIY work on the interior. Nothing too flash, but put some sound deadener and carpet down, as well as respraying alot of the interior black, and made a few vinyl door cards etc. I picked up some pizza cutters the other day, so will roll with them for now. Once I can get the new head and get her running again, hopefully I can go and get rid of the green sticker!
