  1. Sweet car, im doing a 1980 1000 at the moment.

Stripping the whole lot and only have the subframes to go before panel and paint. I have rust in the same spot as you in the bottom outside of the foot well. I like the idea on the white steelies, im toying up with going with mini lites or sticking with the steels and the chrome/polished caps. Steels I wont need arches but minilites I will so need to make a decision I guess as I will go with group 2 and have them painted body colour

  2. Put yourselves in the cops shoes, they have to deal with drunken asses on New Years, they have some fuckwit raping a 62-yr old lady that they all want to be out there catching, but have to deal young kids hooning around in cars pissing off the general public (not saying you were but a loud car does piss people off).

Then for the other guy you had $4000 in fines already and in a known boy racer area - did you think he was going to shake your hand and say "my what a model citizen you are".

I dont condone their behaviour but maybe they are just sick to death of little shits being little shits

  3. You might want to ask a lawyer about section 22A(4)(a) of the Land Transport Act - this seems like an out to me if you didnt go over the speed limit and did nothing else wrong. http://www.legislation.govt.nz/act/public/1998/0110/latest/DLM434542.html

(4)In this section and in section 96(9), the operation of a motor vehicle in a particular manner is authorised by law if,—

    • (a)in the case of a race or an exhibition of speed or acceleration,—

      • (i)the speed of the vehicle is within the applicable speed limit or speed limits; and

      • (ii)the vehicle operator does not contravene any enactment other than this section that applies in relation to the operation of the vehicle; or

  4. Can't hurt having that extra volume to be honest..

Be careful in this regards. You want the engine to sit at its operating temperature which is controlled by the thermostat. With too much airflow through the radiator the water in the rad gets too cold and then when the thermostat opens up the engine cools to much which closes the thermostat and the process starts again - you will see the temp go from operating to cold to operating to cold etc etc

Im going through this currently where I will have to block off the lower portion of the rad to get temp to sit at operating temp.
