  1. this^, new paint will only stick aswell as whats under it. But if you decide not to remove it all you can do your repair work as normal then before paint use a product like PPG DP4000 as a wet on wet primer sealer, and if you run out of time it can be painted over upto 5 days later without having to sand it back

be careful with dp4000 az it doznt sick to bare matel,dp40 doz and its cheaper. put any 2k sealer or primer over enamel is a no no az 2k sealers and pimers dry hard az rocks, enamel drys alot softer than 2k. so it may crazy crack over time. think ppg change the times to 2 to 3 days now before having to sand before painting!
  2. last time i got my t50 rebuilt it was 360$ inc gst for the bearings, its cheaper in the long run to rebuild the box! just because you know what has been done to it,and your not buying some other dudes heap of crap, i know 1st and 2nd are the first to shit out!

if you buy another box make sure its mint, or you will be in the same boat your in now!

  3. try jack the car up check that nothing is loose, check all the rubber bush's in the leaf springs are still ok,

turn the wheels and see how they feel, and see if there any noise comming from them! ke70s are pretty simple car so souldnt be to hard to find what is the prob

  4. yeah id get some 2000 grit sand paper wet or dry. use water and and lightly sand the over spray off then get a good cutting conpound and hand buff it up! this works better with a small buffer but your hand will do fine, just takes longer! press hard and fast when doing it by hand!

never ever use 2pac thinners on any plastic trims etc, it will melt your lights, 1k thenners can melt them to so just watch it!

as for windows use a shape razer blade, dont use anything else, keep using shape ones!

    hope this helps

  5. i had a b1600 diff that i ran behind my 4age ke35 for a while, just an open spinner. you can get the later model lsd to fit them etc, it was pretty tuff! i sine's upgranded to hilux rear, i welded on 2inch steel blocks to the housing, used the b1600 u bolt and shock plate, and used b1600 shocks. never looked back, hooks up mint and even do track days in it!

i know that ke70s use the same diff housing, head, shocks etc so sould work on a dx!

if you cant aford a hilux, go f series az they have good lsd options and come with disc brakes(ae86) drums(ae85) same stud patten

just cut the mounts off and remake new ones for leaf sping ke70, i think the f series came out in the 80s ceilca and JAP SPEC corona azwel

    hope that helps

  6. kool az man thank you for that info! yeah the chank shaft was off an auto engine. had to change the bush spigot to a mannal one when i rebuilt the engine! got that spigot from nissan, even tho it look like an after market one!

im replacing the clutch, and flywheel etc, and throt id better sort the leck at the same time or it wood be a wast for time!

ill have to get the gaskit that seals that plate azwell. ill get a price throw work at nissan and see how a go!

    cheers dude!

  7. hay guys, iv got a rb20det box witch has alot of gear oil in the bell housing!

i noticed that its lecking around the input shaft plate etc!

is there a seal and gaskit that i have to replace there or is more to it than that?

and are they easy to replace,or a bitch to get to?

    cheers chris!

  8. pretty sure its the rb20det 9 bolt flywheel man! but id have to check it to make sure before a buy one. the motor is a gts4 rb with mods to the rb20det sump to fit the oil pick up, but yeah got to make sure!

the autoclutch been in there for around 4 years now i think, so just old and warn out thats all!

plus got to fix the input shaft seals etc so just going to do the lot at the same time.

  9. hi guys iv got a a31 that iv been using on and of track for the last 6 years! its an rb20 with the same old same bolt ons etc

the clutch has just started sliping when you dump it etc and feeling very old at the moment.

what im asking is the cheap clutchs that you see on trademe for 400$ for a 5puk any good,or am i wasting my time and money and its best to keep with the well knowing ones for 600$ or so?

i dont have alot of coin so if anybody has or used these cheap clutch's, tell me if you like or not?

any info wood be wicked cheers chris

  10. paint striper doznt get the bog off (if there is any)so you might have to grind those area's! make sure you sand the paint with 40 grit first so that the paint striper eats in good! best to treat the metal once all the paint bog etc is off! then 2pak etch it!

i restore cars az a job and found if you got bog in the panel that your taking back to bare metal, best to use a 8,10 inch grinder

its faster and less mess, and just lightly grind it so you dont heat up the panel to much!

this is my way and it works for me, but there are loads of other ways to go about it just what ever works for you, hope this helps dude!

  11. yeah i just put the old ones back in, saw a cef on trademe with tinted lights and purpize it had just got a new vtnz wof because it had tinted lights so yeah there it is,learn from other peoples ffff ups!

cheers for the info guys, hope this tread will help others with this type of thing!

  12. the ve commys do its an opitons i think! i know the ae111 levin have pretty dark, but yeah!

i asked the wof man at the garage up from work today interesting,

said that it inpends on the person checking the car for a wof really, he said that as long as you can see them light up in the day time and can be see it souldnt be a problem.

iv found over the years of mucking with cars that certs, wofs, and the cops have different rules for anything to do with mods!

one thing could be sweet for a cert but not for a wof eg stetched tyres. you cant get a cert with them, but a wof you can, and cops can green sticker it for them!

    its anybodys guess lol!

  13. haha that wood of been a mess man!

i just bugs me that you cant just make your car look different from the rest with out getting the fuzz all over you!

iv spent alot of money certing the cage, motor, rims, coilovers so so on etc and a little thing like tinting your lights can get you into crap!

im from west auckland az well lol!

  14. cheers guys! yeah iv got a high stop light on the car, i had to put on for a wof many moons ago.

it says that they have to be red when there on or braking etc and to have a red reflecter somewhere on the rear. they light up red and there still bright.

az much az they look kool, but probperly not wroth another green sticker.

its the type of car that is allways get picked out buy the cops,i reckon id be sweet but you get that one cop that can end it all!
