lol! the septone iv use in boots and floor pans etc the 1k satin black 4L tin. 2k enamel is not bad. painted a drift hack in it I while back still pretty glossy. still takes a while to harden. they used 2k enamel etc in the 70s on nz new cars before 2pac never come out. think theres a 2k enamel clear but not sure? iv painted engines in 2pac soild colours and it works fine, never tried enamel engine paint before.

EXPORT aerosol cans haha! and there thinned out way to much to. just cheap paint man!

that depends on the brand, i have a 1l tin in front of me for an engine bay im doing tomorrow.
Not using thinners is fine in a warm environment where the paint will flow but if your in a cooler garage spec spray area then thinners is a must or its gonna be a nightmare/some balls to spray heavy enough to get it flat (not telling you just so other readers are aware)
yep and you are right I keep on for getting I do stuff at work in the booth! MS clear would be prefect at home. what brand is that 1L you got? be good to know. can be a nightmare both ways with or with out. best bet is allways do a test panel if you never done it before to see where your at. just a little bit of thinners will go a long way in clear.
-
Yea if you use the razor blade technique then make sure you put masking tape on the corners otherwise you will scratch the paint badly.
yep your right and bend it a little bit az well so it shaves only the run down! get any run out if you take your time
-
clear only comes in a kit 7 L depends on what system you use, different systems have different mix ratios etc 3.1, 2.1. every painter is different but I never really use thinners in clear. with base coat colours 50 /50 with thinners so doubles or paint. a kit of clear will be sweet to do two coats, use HS clear if you want good build.
-
you can use a razer blade to file down the run til its close to the surface, then grab a wet block with 800 wet to file down a bit more and then 2000 wet block to sand out the 800 marks. are you like clearing over a 2k colour? like a blue, red. yellow etc. if you sand the peel and get your runs out, it will be sweet to clear over 2000 grit marks and use scotch brite scuff pad to got the areas you cant get with the 2000 sand paper. but yeah don't sand throw or you will have a mess on your hands.
-
you can put an matting base additive in 2k and clear coat if you want. it works well. most paint companies have this product. PPG have it etc. you can get the paint shop to add it to your paint, or buy it your self and have a play with it. spray some test panels first to get your satin, or matt finish you are after. only paint over 800 wet or 500 with sander. matt finish show up everything, dents, sanding marks, it sounds weird but its true!

yep there is to terminals in the engine bay fuse box that you can bridge witch over comes this prob, ill have a look at my one 2moro and see what I did haha! It was 10 years ago

iv seen a fwd corona with a 12a in it and a mini!
I think a Tiida with a front wheel drive 12A PP setup would be a much more original idea.
-
iv been thinking of kool cars or just out sure ideas on what to put a rota into.
i like the idea of putting a 13bt,or 20b into a a31 cefiro or r32? what do people think of this?
would there be haters that would hate on it?
i think if i had the coin i would straught up do it! each to there own tho!
what other ideas have people got? be interesting to know!

mate lucky no one was sitting on that side! this is why you have to use drive shaft loops!
-
i ran standy brakes in my ke35 with 4age for awhile. no probs! think it depends on what you ran in the car and what you doing with it!
i ran s4/5 rx7 front and rear brakes now, bit over broad for a 4age bit im glad it did it for track days!
you can use what ever disc and cailper you want,az long az they work with each other, and you talk to the right engineners. can make anything work!

lol or caravans ! 2k or if you want to call it 2pac all use hardeners, its a two part system( colour or clear plus hardener) 1k or lacquer if you want to call it is a one part, so no hardener. basically air dry. both 2k and 1k use there own thinners. enamel is different type of paint witch comes in 2k or 1k. but like bubblegoose 1k (lacquer), enamel are not the best.
hope that sounds right haha!
