How was the meet last night? My team lost 4-2 but did well with the cheap beers
-
I'll be there. Any chance of a sticker in yellow? If not I'll grab a white one.
Ah hang on, scratch that. Just remembered I'm playing summer soccer and drinking cheap beers on Wednesdays (unitl early feb I think)

Massive thanks to Amy and Karl for setting this up, almost didnt make it out as my throat had closed up and I could barely talk.
So glad I went to this, everyones cars looked immaculate, Rod was choice as, the place was fantastic.
Longest trip for the chevette since I've owned it and no problems other than a mysterious scent of fuel going up/down hills and the engine getting a bit warm while sitting still (also pointed out that the rocker cover gasket could do with replacing).
Rod's museum was really cool, and so much better with the tour he offered.
Couldn't believe we were able to do the legendary driveway!
Massive thanks for pulling this together. Is this going to be an annual thing? Keen as for 2013 if it is

You also have someone new called danny who isn't replying to pm.
If you are danny please check your pm thanks mate
Sorry, that would have been my Dad, he was super keen once I mentioned it (he's followed Rod Millens career since many moons have passed) so I signed him up to oldschool.
He was with his mate Mark in the black XD. Not too flash on the interweb hence no replies to PMs.
They had an absolute blast

Leadfoot Days Eve!
Amped for this. Gotta try and get the car good n shiny at some point between work, a friends halloween party, and the morning
-
Sweet got time off work will definitely be coming down now, unsure if i'll be driving the Shuvit down though.
Do it.
The world needs more Shuvits
Will be taking mine if the fuel leak gets sorted :s yep, pleasantly suprised at how cheap a full tank is, somewhat disappointed to see a giant puddle of grass death in the morning.

They can do the tints in the carpark if you're stretched for time, but theyd prefer to do the work at their place in Sunnyvale (better light, cover from rain/dust etc). They work weekends too which is a bonus
$150 for a full car for us, if it's just the two windows it'll be cheaper (not sure if I'm reading it right, did you need the whole car done or just 2 windows?)
Where the hell is sunnyvale? I need one little quater window done on the Hilux surf. Whats the best way to contact them.
Don't really want to take the surf to and oldschool meet..
Yea sort of inbetween Henderson and Oratia, you can call Tane on 09 838 WEST (9378) or mobile 0212390563, make sure to mention oldschool

Michael, what's the deal with tints ?
I got a primera wagon that wants doing. 2 extra windows that would need doing.
FYI: cbf ringing myself haha. Not super fussed how quickly it gets done.

Schweet, picking up the car from the panelbeater tonight, so she'll be all one colour and good n shiny in time for this
-
spotted this tidy little Datsun 120Y coupe (?) at the Ranui shops last night

Wed 17th
noice Cheers Ned
Steve and Tane can do more tints if anyone is keen. $150 for a full car 09 8389378 (let him know you're calling from Oldschool.co.nz)
Also, I know a guy who has a rad little security product from South Africa (and those guys need to know a thing or two about car security).
It's a gearshift lock, basically a hardened locking bracket that keeps your car stuck in gear.
Looks like these:
They wont work with column change.
A "standard" installation takes around 4 hours, this will obviously change from car to car as we can appreciate with our unique toys. He has said he'll do us a deal to fit and install these for OS members for $200 (unless the install is really complicated).
He prefers doing the work at his home workshop out East Auckland, but can bring a lock along at the next meet if youse fullas are interested.
He'd probably sell the lock by itself if people want to fit it themselves and save a bit of dosh.
I've had one fitted to my daily driver and havnt had any issues with it. Works better than the alarm that people ignore anyway.
Normally a minimum of $250 to supply and fit. Let me know if you're interested and I'll invite him along to the next meet

hey all
when is the October meet likely to be?
-
if you still don't have any joy, I've just picked up a parts wagon with a reconditioned 1256 I don't need (he said its recond, but I havnt started it, and it's been sitting for possibly 10+ years). Flick me an offer if you're interested, it is still in the car and will need to be pulled out
-
What, there was people doing tints? Shows hoe much attention i was paying :/
Haha yup, over the far side of the carpark under the light. knocked it out in about half an hour. They enjoyed checking out all of the cars (a bit different to the car yards they see each day) and are happy to do more cars at the next meet if people are keen
-
good meet, more cars than last month and great that Tane and Steve got a bit of attention doing the tints. Real happy with how they turned out on the chevette
-
Form done, not sure who the passenger will be at this point but there'll be at least +1
-
Yeah MX just failed it's wof on some tyres so it definitely wont be coming. My mate, Sam comes up from Gissi with every new car he buys for them to tint it for them cos they do a better job at half the price of the places in Gisborne. I mostly just want my hard top tinted cos it's a real biarch to get tint on that back window!
Is the hard top removable? pop it in the back of a car and bring it to the meet. If it's just one window it'll take them no time
It only JUST fits in the back of dad's landrover, there's no way it'd fit in my 3. But yeah that would have been the ideal situation.
hmm we could try slot it into the back of my wagon if u were dead keen on getting it done on Tuesday, otherwise just grab their number on the night
