any particular type of cars you after?
What times will you need the cars there?
-
Until I sort out the leak in the windscreen it'd most likely be "Cold Burritos in Wet Cars ..... burgers"
-
Had a chuckle reading this:
"Old cars are making roads a danger zone"
Yes there are less safety features on older cars, but drivers of classic/oldschool cars take much more care with their prized possessions than someone fanging around in something easily replaceable.
-
how was the meet? missed it because a few people I was going to bring couldn't make it.
Just as well really, had an evil fuel leak on Sunday that probably would have shown up on the Wednesday in the rain
-
Im keen for some pics rich before i take the motor out and is undriveable for unknown period
can combo up timing with others on a suitable time an date...sooner rather than later
Yeah happy to meet up with others for a group shot I can probably get a datsun 280zx to come to the party too
-
Keen as for shots of mine if you're still looking for cars to get snaps of.
I work on the shore and live out west so whatever is easy for you
I think my profile pic was one you did from a meet in Ellerslie a wee while back?
Some great photos on this thread!

If you choose to go for the legnum, dont play with the tiptronic gearbox like driving a manual.
Really stupid way to stop moving on the Harbour Bridge, and a replacement gearbox costs about as much as the car itself (so you end up selling the wagon for silly cheap money instead).
Great times.

Shall attend this, probably with 2-3 others.
No more beersies clause noted (fair call too)
-
ordinarily, doing that would be fine if done properly.
only problem in your case, is the tank is inside the passenger compartment i believe? which is fine if it is factory, but as soon as you modify it, it has to comply with LVV rules- then you would have to seal the tank area off from the passenger compartment
gotcha. Yeah the tank is in the boot underneath a panel (similar to most spare wheel wells in sedans), the panel is held down with 3 screws, is this considered sealed by LVV standards?

Hi all,
The chevette fuel tank is pretty small (roughly 30L methinks), so I was considering swapping it for a slightly larger looking gemini wagon.
Looking at the space under the boot tray, there is plenty of space for the gemini tank and then some.
What are the rules/laws on expanding fuel tanks?
e.g. if I get the tank split in half and get a band or box of steel welded in to make the tank bigger?

great meet! couldn't believe how many showed up despite the shite weather.
Some truly gorgeous machines on display.
Popped my CaliB cherry, very satisfying and now I want more... is that wrong?
I think my mates may have been partly responsible for some of the mess, they shall receive a stern talking to. Filthy smokers
Such a good venue, would suck major balls to lose it because of mess.
I can't remember who posted it but I like the idea of dailys downstairs, OS upstairs.
I think it's great posting the meet up as an event on facebook so long as err'ybody knows what it's about, behaves themselves, and signs up to the oldschool website. The more the merrier right?

Heya
The previous owner of the Chevette has moved the battery from the engine bay, to just under the dash, kinda exposed.
It's secured down tight as, but I've heard somewhere that it needs to be in a sealed container?
Es legit, or no?
-
hope the car is back from the garage this weekend!
-

-
Botty?

-

Apparantley so, if there's random crap on TradeMe - my family is sure to find it. To be fair though it was a decent tree for $1
