Weve got one thats one owner been in the family its whole life. In the shed now as old man got sick of repairing the suspension.
Quite a cool old car though.
Auto or manual?
-
Anyone had a look through this/read yet?
Just saw in the book shop this arvo and had a quick flick through looks like its got some sweet sheds/car collections in it.
-
Nice looking project man good to see something different being done for a change!! haha
-
looking sharp man, heaps better with some wheels and low.....coupes look far bettter than four door!
-
Nice looking esky, the 2 doors are mint!
-
Be wary, from what iv been told soda blasting is alot more expensive than sand...
-
Sounds like mechanical arent the go if you going off the weight n stall etc off that selector.....might need to give this carb back then...
-
Ended up just buying a Holley alloy manifold off trademe....Now the next issue is should i be wanting a vacuum or mechanical secondaries? Cause the one iv got is mechanical which may or may not be ideal? Like i said above, no clue about carbs haha

Poppa tells a story of when he used to ride his motorbike to school. It used to have some sort of control to hold the throttle on and hed stand up on his bike as he passed the school bus waving at the kids lol

-
So wack that on and should be away laughing yeah?

Engine and box have been split and engine on a stand I got off TM for SB Chev.
Didnt expect the stand to be so minute, its about 2/5 of fall off the ground lol..guess it does the trick though.
Scored a rebuilt Holley 450 carb just got to find the right adaptor to fit the manifold iv got.
A whole 195 HP wooooo
-
yup see here. Im picking i need a adaptor like you say just dont know which its meant to be lol
-
Any of you old folk know anything about carbs??? Im used to the fancy injected technology.
Got a supposidly factory 283 Chev Four barrel intake manifold.
And scored a rebuilt Holley 450 that was meant to go onto a 350 Chev.
Now they dont bolt to each other, picking i need one of those fangdangled adaptors iv seen on trademe.
Would that be right? And if so how do i tell what i have/what i need.
All help greatly appreciated!!
-
oh yeah, loving that with the body back on...super slammed looks awesome!!
-
nah, so not such a big deal with keeping original as not matching engine and box.
-
Yeah after going round n round n circles think im going to stick with the 283...iv got everything i need to make the car complete and driveable bar some brakes, suspension, rust repairs..
So instead of spending more money will just get it going with what iv got, would rather it on the road being used than in the shed for 6 years trying to finish it all lol

When i had a crash and was iunsured with FMG they paid me out the rego.
When i had a crash with ummm i cant remember who maybe State? They didnt pay out RUC, they offered me a settlement price and they kept car and rego etc etc...
Depends on the company and their policys

So scored a sweet as windscreen for it for $151 on trademe, my old one is delaminating and a new one is around $800 by the time you get from states to nz...sooooo very happy about that one.
Progress has kind of halted at present, trying to work out best way forward with rust and engine (contemplating converting to injected such as LS or something?) Open to suggestions on engine or ideas!!
