  1. So I've been looking at engine upgrade options and was wondering on what's out there. I've read every b1600 engine upgrade thread here. I was thinking maybe a sr engine? What would fit? Would I have to get a short block? This is my first engine change so I'd prefer something that I wouldn't have to cut the firewall with, I don't mind cutting tunnels.
  2. Plus I've already got a couple of sheets.
  3. Haven't had an update in a while, in the middle of exams so time is rare. Anyway, I got the wellside down from Dunedin have almost finished cutting the floor out of it, after going around asking for a few quotes I've been told that checker plate will cost about $300 f**k that! I'm gunna go with a plywood deck and a light water based stain. Opinions?
  4. So I've sussed out a wellside in Dunedin for 150, without lights, It's a bit rusty but I'm going to put diamond/checker plate in the bottom of it and sandblast it. Pics: If anyone's coming down from Dunedin to Invercargill area within the next few weeks could you please PM me as I need someone to pick this thing up.
  5. Discuss I recently purchased a b1600 from a fella in Nightcaps. Cost me $1100, Seems like a steal to me. Here are my plans: [*:3sdwf64g]Replace flatdeck with wellside [*:3sdwf64g]Lower [*:3sdwf64g]Replace brakes with later model disc brakes [*:3sdwf64g]Weld deck to cab and smooth over (HZ, HQ style ute ) [*:3sdwf64g]Repaint (Interior:Red/Black Exterior:Canary Yellow/Gloss Black) [*:3sdwf64g]Recarpet and recover seats. [*:3sdwf64g]Install sounds Somewhere along the line I may upgrade the engine. At the moment it has the standard 1.6l. According to carjam this ute has done about 1.44 million kms .
