  1. This pic was taken a couple of years ago when I got all keen and started scrapping off the old paint on the roof. It had 8 different topcoats, 4 blues, 2 oranges, 1 gold and 1 red. Was a lot of paint This is a 327 I brought for the monaro. It was in an old nuffield tractor that use to do tractor pulls at the AMP show.
  2. Rego is on hold luckily. If I put the 327 in it I will have to get a new number plate. Oh well GTS186 will look good hanging up on the garage wall.
  3. Yes it sure is a bit tricky to decide on which motor to use. I do have a spare bonnet that has a hole cut in it that came with the tunnel rams. I will definitely get it back on the road with the 186 in it for a start as the motor is a sweet we runner. It's not the original one though bugger it.
  4. This is where it lived for over 10 years.
  5. Well this forum is working its magic already as I have got a panel beater coming over tomorrow to have a look at it thanks to a member on here that pm'd me his number. Cheers for that Corey. I can't wait to get the body sorted out so I can start with the mechanical bits. I have a few engines that I can use for the old girl, Option 1/ the factory 186s with triple HSR42 Mikini Carbs. 2/ a 327 chevy factory set up. 3/ a 327 chevy with alloy heads and a roller cam package. 4/ a 327 with twin tunnel rams, (you can see half of them in the pic on the back shelf) 5/ a 304 EFI holden motor Will be interested in your thoughts fella's.
  6. This is my Hk Monaro. I have had it since 1997. Time for a rebuild. The rear quarters are a bit worse for wear and need a bit of panel beating. If anybody knows of a good panel beater in Christchurch that does not want my arm or make the bank own more of my house please enlighten me. Discussion Thread; viewtopic.php?f=18&t=34317
  7. Nice build/project fella. A wee tip from modifying Avengers in my past is that you need to strengthen up the rear bottom trailing arm. That fantastic bit of engineering that the rear spring sits in has a lot of force on it when cornering hard and under acceleration. Its an easy fix, just weld a plate to the top part of it, transforming it from a open c section to a rigged square box. Then it will be strong as, making your car handle better and will not bend or flex. I bent heaps years ago and had trouble finding them then, can only guess they would be harder to get now.
  8. Hi. I'm liking your project car. Interested in doing a similar build myself. Where did you get the C20xe motors from? Cheers
