Yea a satin black can look amazing on these big cars but I think I would investigate other satin colours? I cant picture what just yet but I'll go look at some photos
a really pale aqua/turquise/sky blue. in satin. that'd be unusual and cool, if you like that kind of thing...

carpet is a mess ive had a mate spill red powerade on it, and just general wear. so hopefully i can get my a into g when my daily is running again, and strip out the interior and water blast the carpet and get some sound dept in there.
just trying to focus on the little things at the moment
cheers for reading.
Joe
re cleaning carpets - suggest you hire a rug doctor from your local supermarket.... get the upholstery cleaning attachment. buy the chemicals. you can do your seats, and your carpets... prolly a little more gentle than waterblasting them on the driveway.
hope that helps/
I too, dig your boost gauge.

excellent progress! Some shelving to get your power tools and others *off the floor* - when your dry floor fills with water for whatever reason, you can smugface if your tools are already up high.

at which point do you need a cage as mandatory - is it sub-11.0 too?

mighty tasty when wood fired

ahhh, thanks not pininafarina!

OMG - having read the auction, yeah it's awesome! those houndstooth seat covers are almost as cool as the factory upholstry, and having the genuine alloys in the boot? what a score! 30,000kms on the clock. someone gotta buy this.

yeah, nice lines, slightly odd proportions. wasn't it a pininfarina design? I should imagine parts are only print/cast your own nowadays, though.
here's one I photographed earlier:
I live on flickr, where else?

actually, Boxsters are very, very highly under-rated. they're a *great* drive, and are becoming pretty reasonably (comparatively) inexpensive to buy. $15k upwards these days.

I had an N13 1400 SGS (5 door) for years, I imagine with a CA18 in it it would be pretty good fun. Reasonable transport, on good rubber it has reasonable grip, light, economical. it's not a serious car though, IMHO better off with a (A2, A3) golf if you want something solid as a platform to make handle etc - the N13 isn't going to save you that much money by the time you've added suspension etc.

Pete, next time you're in welly you can have a thrash in my volvo (if it's going!). I'm not saying it's a good handling car; it should surprise you though, it's not entirely boaty. I'm still trying to recommission it, physio on hand, taped up, anti-inflamatories. staying off the tools while this injury heals.
Capone, thanks for the link. it seems a good place for certain parts; taking into account the higher cost of euro, it looked to me like the prices I get from fcpeuro.com are more attractive.

yeah, great to see you back with another trump Sam. you are the re-embodiment of a 1970's executive accountant, though with an old school twist #8 )
looking forward to seeing your plans for this one!

hey capone, I use www.fcpeuro.com for my 850-T5. gotta url for scandix?
-
Saabs you need to get the HIGH PRESSURE turbos for the fun. anything up to mid-90's pretty solid, after that they're still fair but all that vauxhall influence is there.
volvos - I'm not biased! #; ) total sleeper spec, as long as you don't buy a red or yellow one. I think they're less expensive to buy because parts in NZ are ++$ and expertise is scarce. They're pretty logical, I think you'd suss it quickly given your systematic approach to your capri.
Mercedes W124 are now undervalued/more accessible, IMHO.

is that the clayton's group c? ( the group c you're having when you're not having a group c)

hey, good result KK. ISTR post number 600 in this thread....

great progress! are those crossply tyres on the front subframe you've just removed from the blue parts car?!
-
congratulations man, and one saved from the crusher, eh?

it's INTERSTELLAR CARPI.

outstanding! I am looking forward to seeing the flames coming out of the 'exhaust'.
I recall a few of these in welly back in the early 80's

one wonders what 'highway stabilizers' are.

bonus points for capturing a UFO! aliens'd probably been tracking the van, unaware CDL had moved it on.
