No windows = pedo spec maaaayte.
I like the windows.

Ah, the ones in the link seem to have more of a kink than the latter photo, which is needed?
No worries.I'm in Auckland, so fine tuning the shape might be a mission, nothing a torch and a bit of muscle can't sort at your end though.
-
The way I see it is, chop original spanner, bend a strip of steel and weld to the end, correct?
I'd be happy to do it for you, just need the measurements and your sacrificial spanners.
Would have to be early next week though as uni and work has me busy for the next few days.
oh yeah, location?

This guy,
http://www.youtube.com/channel/UC3onUv72eSfGZGo9bDO07Eg
and these for example,
It's been a few months but rowing the gears felt nice and solid. Have done plenty of quick 1st - 2nd shifts with no crunch.
Mileage is 320k and shifter bushing is a bit worn I think.
-
Sell me a spare 5 speed?
Oh thanks man. You the boss.
This is cool and I look forward to hearing lovely 6 sounds.
Ohhhh actually, old that thought, I have a rebuilt gearbox going in eventually (will be a while though).
Won't have any need for the one in the car after that.
It's a getrag 245, I think you have to bolt a m10 clutch and flywheel onto your m30 to make it work.
I am totally picking up what you're putting down.
6 on triples.... omg yeeeaah. Combine with a straight pipe and it'd be quite the dreamy aural experience!
So much excite. I've been at uni watching dort videos for the last hour, girl next to me probably thinks I'm weirdo spec.
-
Yeah BMW is like that, think of it as selecting the best hits of the m20 series engine.
And thanks for the offer, I will probably take you up on it!
-
Cheers man, can't wait to tear it down and get on with it.
Goal is to have it sorted with a cert before the new year.
-
Hasn't been much going on here lately, but holidays are coming up and I'd like to get as much done as possible.
So next week I'll be pulling this lovely thing
out of this even lovelier thing
It's an eta m20b27, but not for long.
Plan is to strip it for the block, crank, and rods. Add early m20b25 pistons, e21 m20b20 cam, and a 731 (preferred) or 885 head.
Should give a nice, free revving motor with a CR of about 10:2:1.
Will rejet the stock carb in the short run, but eventually this car will see triple carbs after a bit of saving.
Yes, I just waffled, there has been no actual progress.

While I was in hospital some awesome mates decided to rebuild my bike for me.
Just when you think everyone's a sack of shit and we're all doomed, faith in humanity is restored once again.
Truly awesome man.

Unless you completely trust autolube, I'd disconnect it and run premix for the run in.
moot point if you've been over the whole system though.

No bad suggestions except the bad ones, which is basically anything Berjjj suggests...
Fine. I am here to redeem myself.

Yeah fair to say I've gone a bit overboard. If customs picks it up I'll be fuming.
Main expense was the tank though, NOS in the original candy red, 1 of 2 left so I thought now or never ha.
-
Bloody hell, cmsnl are now a few hundred euros richer.
NOS tank, air cleaner, oil pump, various nuts and bolts incoming.
Damn this bike and its short production run/unicorn spec parts.

Alternatively, does somebody have a big slab of land with a white house with a large wall with no windows on it where we can slap a projector and all park up in our cars and watch a drive in movie?
No? Okay as you were then...
Kim Dotcom?

Have heard good things about the above method from a few old foamers, will be doing the same.

Love it man.
Driveline staying standard?

The guy I bought my s90z off (and has helped me a whole lot since), has two of these in the shed, along with another 2 s90's, a ct90, an ss50, and a cl90.
Some mint, others mid resto.
Fuck it's unreal every time I walk in there. They sound mint, just like the 90's, but deeper and piercing your eardrums all the way to redline, do it you good man.

Berjjj, was that you heading onto the motorway at Onehunga at about 5:30pm?
Nope wasn't me, I was stuck on a bus at the time.
-
That truck is awesome!
Aaron whatever trickery you used to make the paint look half decent, I approve.
-
Anyone from Auckland heading down and able to take a Honda C50 in pieces to Hanmer for Willdat?
I can deliver it to you.- 1

4 days from the Netherlands to Auckland. 3 days from one side of Auckland to the other, I guess traffic was bad? ha.
BUT OH MY LOOK AT THE COLOUR
The marks on the top of the tank are tape that's been on there for a good 30 years.
Tried de-solv-it to no avail, any suggestions? Don't want to risk ruining the paint.
