  1. Google search/thread lurking shows these to be weds professors (mesh?)

4x100, 3 piece, will be putting all the bolts and valve stems back in.

No corrosion but the lips could do with a polish.

    15x7 +35 all round.

Have people interested but not sure what to ask for the set? Haven't seen another in NZ so finding it difficult to gauge. What do you reckon?

    Thanks in advance.

  2. So I haven't been up to sweet f all as this thread might suggest, plans have been made and changed then changed again. Old engine lost it's shit stuck in traffic about a month ago when that truck flipped just past that fancy underpass heading north, swapped in a temporary replacement since this beast is my daily.

There's a fresh facelift m20b25 sitting in the garage that will be going in 'soon', bought the engine bare so I'll have to sort bits and complete it though. Been rebuilt though so worth the effort I reckon. Along with a parts e21 I bought for the drivetrain, happens to have a rebuilt rear diff and gearbox that mates nicely to the m20 so that's handy.

Had another look under it the other night, lo and behold it's got all the 323i goodies, that includes disk brakes all round, so I'll be pinching them and binning the tired drums currently keeping my car from hitting others/a brick wall/the garage door (sorry mum).

Coilovers seem to be finally sorted thanks to the search efforts of our OS regular Sparkle, cheers bud.

Now waiting on motor mounts, loom and ecu then we're all go.

    See, no lies.

  3. Pm r100. He is doing car transporting i think

    Ah thanks.

Hi mate, are you thinking of sticking it on a trailer or just using a tow rope. Had much experience being towed with a rope?

Just wanna know what I'm in for before putting my hand up. Also no hondas. (kidding)

Whichever mate, the brakes aren't too flash but I'll be stopping by again to see if it's just a stuffed line or something, happy to pay for trailer rental if need be. Have been towed by rope once about a year ago (for all of 10 minutes haha, went well though). It's a rusty old bmw ha! Any help would be awesome

  4. Somehow scored a parts car recently with all the bits needed for the swap, not running, brakes questionable but has all wheels on the ground. Anyone able to help out with a tow from Glenfield to a front lawn in Albany? Will of course supply a box of choice.

Otherwise a company that won't charge me an arm & a leg/is easy to deal with would be awesome. In no particular rush due to seller having to pull the old motor out beforehand.

    Would appreciate it heaaaps!

  5. Pictureless update, whatever. New (used/less cracked) dash in, swapped tacho for a supposedly working one, which it is, but for an m20 powered e21 so reads stupid low, fffffffffffffffffffffff. Picking up another one, new door cards, momo hub and indy wheel, all new exterior trim, rear chrome bumper and other various bits and pieces sometime next week, will be lush but I'll resist and wait till an eventual repaint to put the new chrome trim on. Also, previous ride just sold so that's freed up a bit of funds.

    That is all... for now!

  6. Switched my tacho with one that was supposedly "working" for the trip, turns out it's from a 6cyl car and reads waaaay too low, cool.. 11 hours yeaaaah /fist pump.

edit: does anyone have a spare 8a ceramic fuse they could shout me tomorrow morning? left it a little late to see if the ride was all set, minor but gonna piss me off till I put one in. Will show my gratitude with a complimentary pie.

  7. Had a good time finally meeting a couple of OSers at the monthly meet the other day!

Anyway, in my insomnia induced boredom I decided that these minters shall be mine

    yuutan18225img600x45013.jpg

Will be on the next container heading our ways, stoked.

Also found a mint dash and heater surround, potentially new door cards that aren't hacked to shit too, suhweeeet. Cut a small recess in a set of rubber floor mats to fit the beemer too, getting there slowly.

To do (in no particular order):

    Drop

Sort lower sill, looks like one of the repairs was a shitter, have checked all other skins since and it seems like it's just the one that's dodgy.

M42 when my other ride sells

Ideally would want an LSD too, but they're rare as hens teeth, and big money, fml.

  8. Ah not too fussed, might just do a cut jobby on one of the rubber ones you've got in stock, can't go wrong for $10. Might stop by again at the end of the week aye.

@ Sparkle, flicked an email off to rpm uk. but check out gazcoilovers.com, their calculator quotes free shipping for NZ, dunno if that's a glitch but I'd be stoked.

  9. Did you bring this into Repco Albany around Midday today? Swear I saw this as I went off on lunch break.

Pretty bloody tidy if it was!

Yeah mate that would have been me, do you work there? Was looking for some floor mats but I can't find any with a decent floor gas pedal cut out, might have to trip a rubber one, it's the small things ya know.

  10. Have pm'd one of the members on SW and they're captive most of the way down, unless you max them. Sweet ride quality too apparently. I can't find any other options that would better it. Shipping from the UK sucks though, and I'm keen to find more reasonably priced alternative before shelling out that sort of money (could do alot with 2k). Otherwise I'll give GC in the states a call seeing as our dollar isn't too bad at the mo. Oooor anyone able to weld up a set? Would pay in advance and all that.

  11. Cheers Bistro.

Sparkle the Gaz ones seem to go much lower than the 65mm stated on the website, this example is on them and they're not maxed out by a bit http://www.stanceworks.com/forums/showt ... 590&page=3. Have seen others in the weeds on the same set up, will track the pics down for you.

Otherwise do you know anyone that's able to shorten/weld up a Koni/GC setup if I got the hardware in? I don't have a welder or the skills, or if someone's willing to take on an apprentice for a day

edit: another one on them http://www.stanceworks.com/forums/showt ... 204&page=4

  12. Alright, so I went down to the tron to have a look at two e21's being wrecked, rumour had it there was a mint dash to be found. Turns out someone had at it an hour before me and managed to crack it at all the mounting points, the fuck, who tries to rip it without undoing a few bolts?

Anyway still grabbed a rear tail light as mine was a bit stuffed and a window handle thing, swapped them out.

Bent up left rear tail light here:

Put new old one in like so:

    Hey presto:

Also, ladies love a man with a baller set of cup holders:

    winnar.jpg

Now, any recommendations for a reasonably priced panel/paint shop in the Auckland area that does decent work? There's a couple of spots I want sorted, minor, but bugging me nonetheless. Cheers.

  13. Thanks mate.

M42 swap is ideal due to how far back it sits, found a wrecker that I could suss the engine off but now it's down to being able to do it myself, if it's much more than a backyard job I might have to pay someone to do it (any offers??) seeing as I don't have many tools nor a welder. Will deffo let you know when the time comes, the m10 has done 250 odd k's mind you.

Have done some research, can't get past the adjustability of coilovers but all my current options are from overseas, GAZ does a complete setup for our cars which looks nice, or a Koni/GC setup, but they're damn pricey. Have you found anything local?
