  1. Originality has never been a big deal imo, if it looks good, it looks good. Might give them a test fit in the coming week.

Though widening the ssr's would be sweeter in the long run (well into next year). Engine work first. Have walked outside to stare at the wheels 3 times in the last 2 hours fml.

  2. Yeah looking at those pics I think I like the mk3's more. Maybe it's just me getting bored/not actually stepping back to appreciate what I've got enough.

Shit thanks for correcting me, 14's make it more tempting though. Hmmm

  3. Thought I'd show where the car is now, nothing much has changed, swapped the springs out, rides pretty average due to stock shocks though. Still saving for cert and swapping rear trailing arms for disk brake conversion before putting coilovers in, will go a bit lower but not much I think, rear needs to be level/not a big fan of rake on these cars.

Also, seriously tempted to offer a trade of these wheels for a set of watanabe's that I've seen for sale that are 14x7.5 -3 (thanks Beaver) all round.

These are x7/7.5 +4 for reference. What do you guys think? I like both and keeping changing my mind ha.

  4. Awesome meet.

Again, thanks Tara for cleaning up.

Don't see an issue with Facebook event, but rules should be stated clearly on the fb page too for those who reckon it's sweet to leave their shit behind/state OS cars only.

Maybe enforce split level parking, say dailies lower level & OS cars up the ramp? (Or vice versa depending on weather).

Saw a bunch of sweet rides that hadn't shown up previously. A+ would trade again

  5. Thanks mate. Spare bonnet and guard are straight minus a bit if rust underneath but a wire wheel should sort most of it I think. Chrome bumper is mint. Major deal (for me) is that a single headlight grill is rare as hens teeth! Refuse to go double haha, ah well. There's no way the other party could rightly argue it's my fault so I should be sweet.

Only issue might be if the insurance co. wants to write it off. Any experience with fighting this/getting it back with a lesser payment and a live rego?

  6. Have tried searching, maybe I just suck but..

If I was to have a rear strut bar with 3 mounting points welded into the boot (1 point per shock tower and 1 to boot floor), would that be classifified as a structural modification and in turn require a cert? If so, any testing needed of the welds? Wondering if this would abide by the same rules regarding half cages etc.

^This is exactly what I'm talking about/have sitting in my garage, just want it welded in rather than risking the bolts ripping through sheet metal.

  7. Well they sold for $800, no complaints here :D

Anyway, brand seems to be the main selling point with wheels. Enthusiasts know and appreciate a genuine wheel when they see it, they're just cool and feel like quality. Also resale value is something to consider vs replicas. But yes, a wheel is a wheel at the end of the day, depends on the individual.
