  1. Yeah at the end of the day its getting the work done right and not for some rediculous price. I should havea a go at it myself considering I work for an engineers as in engineer but honestly at $70 a pop I really cant be bothered.
  2. I should have figured.... I've delta with him briefly before and didn't like his attitude too much but I have heard only good about the work they do.
  3. Sorry to hijack this hijacked thread but where do you get steelies widened down here in wellington ktrips?
  4. Awesome dude. Ashame that the bumpers arent interchangeable as i would have preferred the facelift bumpers but not a biggie none the less. Looks like the one im getting is a pre facelift. Good news is it has the red interior in pretty good nick. Exactly what i was after.
  5. I'm wondering if any of you more experianced crown owners can shed some light on a few things for me. The main thing is i have noticed that there seems to be 2 different types of front and rear bompers for these. Is this due to the Deluxe and non Deluxe models? Are they interchangable from one type to another type? Are these all disc brake front end or only some? Are the parts fairly readily available and is there a tried and tested brake upgrade available like 4 pot surf brakes or something? Did any of the MS65's come out power steering and what model had the power steering? Id there a tried and tested retro-fit for power steering out of a different model that may be more readily available into this model? Does the deluxe model have any interior changes? Any more interesting things that i may need to know as i get nearer to getting mine and building it up. Cheers Matt
  6. I stand corrected. I read that in an article in nzpc a few years ago.
  7. Hi mate, was going to post in a newbies section but didn't notice one??..
  8. The way suspension Springs are engineered at the factory is to take the weight of the vehicle, plus passengers and luggage over the available suspension travel. So for eg lets say 2tonne over 200mm factory. If you chop the springs you are effectively reducing the weight those springs can handle and also making it a shorter distance. This causes premature suspension component failure and extremely poor handling. As far as I know chopped springs are illegal because of this even if theyre still captive. If you wanna slam your car it costs about $100 to get your existing springs compressed. By compressing the springs your car will still be capable of handling the correct weight etc and will handle a lot more nicely. You will almost certainly need shortened shocks aswell. At the end of the day you do what you want to do. Its just good to make your decision based on fact.
