  1. Just getting the final welds and should be getting the car back on Sunday!
  2. Watched a guy from Dave Ward (not sure if it was Dave) try and pull my mates WRX on the truck on and angle and almost fucked his Equips, just seems a little rough and just wanted to get the job done quickly rather than taking a bit of care. Got it sorted anyway but thanks for suggestions.
  3. Excellent, called Dion, $75 to get the car from Taita to Porirua, cheaper than hiring the trailer. Cheers for the help.
  4. Pretty sure that's the guy I was told about, will give him a call
  5. My AE70. Yeah I know who you're talking about Shaz, I've asked for his number.
  6. Hey, I need to get my car from Frost Motorsport in Lower Hutt back to my lock up in Porirua sometime in the near future. I took it out there on a hired trailer which was a fair amount of hassle by the time I had picked it up and dropped it off and didn't really save any money by the time I paid for diesel and the hire of the trailer. Can anyone suggest a good company to get it towed by/does anyone have a car and trailer and wants to make some $$$? Cheers.
  7. That's pretty much what I told him... Although, in theory if they're done right should perform as good as they look.
  8. Yet to see how well they actually perform, it'll be interesting to see what sort of power figure I get with these on. Give Steve an email, he's keen to do some more. bigsteve@frostmotorsport.co.nz Josh.
  9. I kinda like it without the lip... maybe just because the one i had wasn't a perfect fit but im not sure i wanna spend the $$$ to buy one from Aus and not like it. Will probably end up selling the one i had.
  10. Almost done, just gotta do the collector and final welds.
  11. Ill let you know my final price when they're done, but I was given a quote of not much for than that for mine in stainless.
  12. Getting them made by Steve at Frost Motorsport. They're fairly expensive since they're the first set but I imagine if there were a couple of people interested then you could get them cheaper. Another place I spoke to was Macbilt Engineering in Wellington who make 4-2-1 headers for $450 (quoted). They reckon they've done a lot of testing on dynos and they've got the best...
  13. Yeah, I was weighing up whether it was worth goig coilovers in rear but since this is just a road car and trying to keep the cost reasonable I decided these would be easier... Plus I got sweet deals on them!
  14. I think i paid about $1100 all up for everything. Yeah man, i'll be selling it if i do go for a diff set up but i wont be deciding for a while. Yeah, got the heater option but dont think im gonna use it, not at the moment anyway but i just wanted to have the option there if i did decide i wanted it.
  15. Yeah, was stoked! Although im not sure if ill need the dizzy relocation kit now... I've managed to score a good deal on a new Link G4 Storm so might change the set up.
  16. The beginning of the headers. There's been a few other updates as well which ill get photos of once these are done, looking so good! Also these arrived
  17. The beginnings of the radiator shroud. Because im running such a small radiator there were large gaps on either side. This should help direct the air/stop shit flying into the engine bay... plus the alloy will look amazing through the grille.
  18. Have been quoted $850, but final figure could change. Mine are particularly difficult so might be a bit cheaper depending on ease of the job/what you want.
  19. Lock ups out in Porirua, cost about $250 a week I believe for a double. Headers are going to be stainless steel, equal length 4-1.
  20. Car went off last night for headers, gearbox crossmember and to get radiator mounted etc. When it comes back I still need to sort the hydraulic clutch, fuel and wiring! Getting close!!!
  21. Hey all, I'm looking at buying adjustable suspension for my 79 AE70 Corolla and trying to figure out the best/easiest way to do it. I called a local certifier, Ken Mcadam, about it and he doesn't think that welded suspension can be certified but welded from factory can be, ie bc gold spindle type. Does anyone know if the spindle type will be a straight forward bolt up? Or what other parts will I need to change/modify to do this? Cheers.
  22. Bikes pretty much done. Just needs stickers put on and metal pedals, have plastic at the moment. Could do with the chrome redone but I'm not going to bother. Went out for a 4 hour bike ride last night, felt nice to ride, although my ass would disagree.
