Hey all,
I found an old moped/bike sitting in the corner of the girlfriends apartment building car park and decided to try my luck with it.
It's registered as a 1973 Yamaha F5T. Looks to be in tidy condition, just needs a bit of TLC. Has black plates on hold.
I'm having trouble finding any info on them, value etc. any help would be appreciated.
This is it

So nice! I'm hopefully picking one up soon. Found it tucked away in the corner of the gfs apartment building
How would it go with a bigger guy riding (90kg+)?

These photos look wicked! Keep them coming.

You'll need an authority card for that, not a race licence.

Cheers guys!
Turns out the wof guy was nice to her and didn't put it on the books so she could decide whether to sell it or fix it so easily sorted.

Hey all,
Sorry if this has been covered but I'm on a phone.
I'm looking at a car tonight that has just recently failed a wof because of rust on the strut tower.
If a car fails due to rust, does the work have to be done by a panel beater and do I need a repair cert? It's already failed and in the system.
Or could I fix it and just take it to another wof place?
I'm only looking at it because it's cheap, but if I'm going to have to pay a panel beater to do it and get a repair cert then it won't be worth it.

Never mind everyone, shiny things took my attention and I purchased a new set up.
-
Haha as much as I would love to say I made something like that, I had them made by Steve at Frost Engineering. PVA would have a better hold than my welding
-
Yeah would have to come out. If the AE85 tank doesn't fit I'm just going for a whole new set up.
-
Because that would cost money, which he is trying to avoid. If we can simply swap tanks then he would prefer that

Hey all,
My mate had an accident when trying to move my car around our lock up, in short it slipped off the jack he had on the diff and cracked my fuel tank.
He said he has an AE85 fuel tank he can replace it with.
Does anyone know if it will be a straight bolt in?

Painted the engine bay and the motor is back in, clutch master cylinder mounted and the radiator hoses done.
As she currently sits
And a close up of the hoses because I'm stoked! Look amazing.

They were $40 each, which isn't bad for something hand spun. And yep, Spun by Hutty.
I've just gotta finish welding up the holes in the engine bay then it's more or less just a matter of assembling it all. I have pretty much everything sitting there except the exhaust and driveshaft

Got these bad boys spun up for my Techno Shadows as original centre caps are near on impossible to find. Will get the stickers made up for them aswell

Get the wheels widened?

Cheers.
If anyone knows of such a tank for sale, let me know xoxo

Or find a AE86 or TE71 tank and bolt that in
This is what I was leaning toward since I'm so virgin/useless.

What would happen if I was to run a intank pump on the factory carb tank? What's the difference in pick ups between a lift pump and a high pressure pump etc?
-
I'm in no way shape or form capable of such wizardry. So it's really what's available off the shelf/alternative fuel tank options
-
I don't mind forking out for quality parts, it's more whether I can get away with an in tank, or if I need to go pickup, surge and external etc.
-
I have 2 questions about the fuel set up in my AE70.
I'm doing a motor swap from carb 3AU to 20v 4AGE.
What is the easiest/cheapest/best way to do the fuel? Can I just put a high pressure pump into the carb tank or would I be better to just but a new fuel cell, surge tank, lift pump and external?
If I was to do the fuel cell etc in the boot, what else would be involved? Would I need to seal the boot off from the rest of the car or is the rear seats enough?
-
yeah man cool to see another datto with that crazy colour side by side. Cool meet, wicked good pics. Always makes my ute look tidyer than it is. Hahaha
Just had some guy ask if you'd sell the ute?
-
Pointless photos. I took the car out and gave it a clean and lowered the front. The rears have 25mm spacers, the front will have them too.
Also mocked up the muffler
Also, this bad boy arrived!

Is it worth stripping down and painting it etc, or would it be worth more in original condition?
