So much better with the cafe seat!
Damn, I was there and didn't see that one. Looks lush as, in OG condition..
I wouldn't mind getting a cowl for the rear of the seat
I did see one with the burgundy tank there tho- 2

Does anyone have any pics for reference?
"Purple motorcycle indicators" didn't provide on Dr Google
-
I used to look at big ole' indicators and think they were ugly and "With easy access to LED's these days, why keep these?!"
however as of late, i've started to actually quite like the chunky indicator look
I wonder if it's because i've been binge watching these YT vids on Japanese bike culture and lots of them keep OEM indicators
Video thumb nail for reference
P.S If you get bored, these videos are cool. I have no idea what they're saying but the bikes and cinematography are rad- 2

I'm yet to find any cheap indicators that have made me think "Yeah, these are brighter than bulb".. if you aren't directly in line with the LED's
I was being followed by a new GS1200 the other day.. It was broad day light and their indicators were blinding bright. You can pick up some knock off's on Ali but OEM aren't that expensive. They're a bit ugly and not "small" but shit they're brightIt's probably the German engineered glass/plastic they use to cover the LEDs that has some magnifying specialness..

I'd like a gb with a xr600 engine
I'm half tempted to import a NX650 Dominator, as long as it's the single carb model, it's a straight swap other than a minor CDI modification and creating some form of shift linkage as the gearing would be upside down (unless you wanted race spec)..
But yeah man, that would be fun! The GB already loves the corners! -
Thats looking awesome man, i'm enjoying the progress.
Out of curiosity, are hard tails legal in NZ?? -
I can't find the auction anymore but from what I remember, It would need a fair bit of work to get up to scratch
If you're looking for a GB, these aren't bad.

Special edition too, it's just a shame that they don't have the OG seat
And this one is cool, with a super trap exhaust
https://www.trademe.co.nz/Browse/Listing.aspx?id=2451498117And there is one here where old mate is trying to save on auction fees and has a GB listed as well as his NV.
Could be a cheap pick up for a starting point

Alternatively, you could buy mine haha- 1

Has anyone gone to their local hydraulic type shop and had braided brake lines made?
I could probably call around to get a price but I’ll just ask here insteadHEL made me a brake line for the above GB.
I posted my OEM one up, $80 and a week later (might have even been less) a braided line showed up. What a huge difference the line made with reducing the sponge feels- 1

The might GB lives - New coil, new leads, new spark plug, new CDI, new REG/REG, tank lined with POR15, new in tank filter as well as an inline filter, rebuilt carb and away it went.

was looking at the mikuni carb for my yx140cc engine
then noticed that the keihin carb from my parts xl185 is a direct bolt on, other than rejetting is there any reason it wouldnt work/any one used one?
Depending on your exhaust and air filter set up, you might even get away with keeping the jetting stock.
Might pay to make sure it will sit in the frame (as in, it's not too tall of a carb). The only other things that would spring to mind is the throttle cables - Yours might be too short? Might be way too long? The XL might have push/pull cables where yours has just a pull? -

Ahh I wrote e-marked, paused, deleted and wrote DOT haha
My post stands correct then, it wouldn't get a WOF in it's current state (missing a mirror) but wouldn't take much to achieve WOF status
regardless, still cool and would still hoon- 1

Is a yellow headlight legal in NZ? I was under the impression they weren't

How come?
It wasn't an attack on the builder too I must add. I did say it was cool and would hoon it
At first glance you're missing a mirror.
I'd also wonder if the lights have the DOT marks as they look awfully like the ones i've purchased before from Ali. I've gone through WOF's with them but he did say "they're getting picky with those marks now". The frame has also been modified to attach that hoop - not sure if that would fail tho, all dependent of the inspector I guess
Thats just a really quick look at the photos -
Wouldn't get a WOF in its current state thats for sure

Did bronze ride forever course today. Was good, learned a few things. Have booked for CBTA assessment to get restricted license for a couple of weeks away so it's still fresh in my head
I found these courses pretty good and recommend to anyone who hasn't already done em'
Good luck for restricted test- 1

Does anyone in the 04 region know much about TPS?
I need to hook up my autometre to ensure i'm getting a certain voltage at closed throttle. I'd rather have someone around with a keen eye for this that has done it before. Will happily cover petrol and brown fizzies of choice/the likes of. Would be really appreciated - Pls and thanks! -
I enjoy seeing the updates - please don't give up man!

Lovely fence!
Can't help but feel like you're shutting yourself away from the garage for thing to be broken into without your knowledge?
Any reason why you didn't go across the driveway and put a gate there?
