Did some shed stuff today
Removed integrated tail light as WOF man says it's a no no
Reverted rear mud guard back to standard (removed chopped one).. Added round bullet indicators and lucas tail lamp for that era specific vibe
Also installed new valve starter set, manifold gaskets, put OEM air box back in, changed jets, played with air/fuel ratio, removed old gas, added new gas and tuned to a perfect idle.
First time it's idled without pops and splutters. I will never go aftermarket air filters on a carb bike again, if I can help it.. About 10 different jet test runs and I could never get it running right.
I might even take it for a hoon sometime this weekend to blow the cob webs off before going for a WOF

Fuck that'd be miles away on the ironhead cafe. So uncomfortable...
Looks cool tho...
Oh yeah, function over form etc etc haha
Different strokes for different folks also. I love a good lean forward cafe racer style - that to me is comfy.
Something upright like a DRZ isn't comfy for me
Plus like you say, looks cool hahaaha- 1

I always see people changing their handle bars on their bikes (mostly dualsport or somewhat dirt orientated stuff). Why do they do this? Is it because factory bars are uncool looking, or give bad posture? Maybe aftermarket bars are better diameters? How would I know if I needed to change bars?
I read a really interesting quote which was..
When you jump in a rental car, do you sit the same set up as the previous renter? No. You hop in, adjust the seat, adjust the steering wheel, adjust the mirror etc.
Unfortunately one size does not fit all when it comes to motorcycles.
People change handlebars for several reasons.. A couple that springs to mind is they're too far away, too far forward, too wide, too narrow etc.
Often they've got back pain, shoulder pain and hip cramp. These are generally due to a poor ergonomic riding position. How can you tell?
Sit on the bike on a centre stand (or get someone to hold the wheel).
Put your hands by your side and Close your eyes, find your comfy seat position (move your bum around) and with your eyes still closed, raise your hands where you might think would be a comfy spot for you to ride.
Open your eyes..
How far away is the handlebar from your arms?
You might need to get some new pull back risers if needs be..
^ this is just one example..
You might need wider bars, narrower bars.. It might take some trial and error but when you find the sweet spot, your riding will be so much better for it.- 6

yes. old ones are old. new is good. cheap for what they are, lots of fun. bit heavy, last for a long time, similar geometery, and but feel planted. no wheelies tho..
I recently became part of the triumph family with a 13' Thruxton 900. I love it, it's such a dream to ride and sounds phenomenal

Has anyone brought any decent LED's for bikes that aren't a squillion dollars? -

Quite expensive to be honest but a man can only ask for a price and hope for the best!
The comments are pretty rofl tho, poor bloke.. -
That would have been fantastic to see!
Get a load of this bad boy..
Not only have they managed to get a 999cc on a pit bike but also they've crammed all those CC's into such a little case - Im impressed!

Thats looking tough man!
I actually don't think that rear guard looks bad at all to be honest..
I hear sissy bars are quite easy to make - that could be a little mini project to keep you going for all of an hour haha.
Surely you could make something rad out of scrap you have laying about! Would be cool if you had some twisted looking metal. Would match the springer front

You guys should chuck some photos up of your unfinished/one day projects and their current states

I managed to take my GB for a wee shake down around some twisties by my place after fitting some new parts.
Great success, I didn't want to get off the thing! No WOF (since 2018) + REG on hold meant I wasn't too keen on venturing too far.. It makes for a harder time to negotiate with Mr Plod should I get pulled over.
Slapped on a right side mirror and dropped it off this morning for a warrant check, fingers crossed nothing major/show stopper.
A boy eagerly awaits an update from the motorcycle shop
Edit:
Just got a text - Bike has passed!
Great success.
