I spotted this coming through Paraparaumu in the weekend.

Anyone know what it is? Look to me (untrained eye) as a MK1 Cortina coupe? I could be wrong, im not confident in my guess.

Highly strange..

Perhaps an actual mechanic can shed some light instead of a backyard googler like myself - but seems really weird to me.

When you say it moves - are you talking about the spring moving, or the whole strut?

Just do a simple hand-eye check for now - like KK suggested.

Make sure that the bolt on the top of the strut is nice and tight, and same with all the other bolts in there.

Same/similar suspension as the A31 cefiro/laurels/skylines etc - and my personal experience I wouldn't know why one wiggles and the others don't unless the spring is in side the strut incorrectly.

It certainly doesn't sound as tho the spring is uncaptive, otherwise you would have a hella uneven ride, and when it's jacked up, it would look like this.

Is it with all springs, or just one in particular?

Spotted an immaculate KE30 yesterday at Countdown carpark. mmmm in that lovely green (picture below of said green, if only the ke30 was a coupe)

Also I heard that apparently GPS trackers will not work if the car is taken to a storage area and hidden, can anyone confirm this or is it false? 

the only reason I can see this being true is if the building is underground with concrete walls to block cellphone reception? or they have jammers? I could be wrong tho

What is the best way to set up a flashing LED?

I've got my dash out, so it'd actually be a prime time to get a LED in there..

I was thinking about getting one of those key rings, that you click the button, a red light comes on, click it again it flashes, click again it turns off..

I could just take that apart, then cut wires, make longer, mount button somewhere under dash?

Or are there much much easier ideas?

I thought about going down the alarm path in my KE70 as well..

but in stead I brought a battery isolator switch, another kill switch to the coil, and i'll possibly see if I could jimmy up another somewhere..
