Yeah nice, sounds like it's not a difficult thing.

Whats yours look like currently?
Do you have a build thread? -
Forever dreaming about different upgrades on different bikes I am working on currently..
If I have an old bike where the forks are 34mm in diametre.. Is it a case of finding a front end where they're the same in size?
I'm just thinking in terms of upgrading the forks/brakes and just overall style of the bike..
Is there something I am majorly missing?
Obviously if it's a 2017 cbr front end it's going to have ABS brakes and things. is this something that needs to be wired into the ECU of the bike or can I run a separate electrical system for this? Is this such a massive pain the ass I am better off getting something without ABS brakes?
Other obvious thing would be that the front wheel would then be the same size of the rear which would look ridiculous, so would I would need to look into upgrading the swing arm to cater to a larger tyre.. But again, I would need to do some modification to the rear sets to cater to a new rear brake (currently drums) and would upgrade to disk.
Anyway, just waffling and thinking/brain storming.
Has anyone got any personal experience with this?

Interesting, some food for thought.. Thanks.
this can't be the case with tail lights and indicators tho?
My GN recently went through a WOF with an aftermarket tail light (Pretty much an ali express like special) and nothing was mentioned

Good information, thanks @AllTorque
It's a shame I can't use an LED head lamp. They're just so much brighter..
Am looking at options with replacing the headlight on my GB400tt (sacrilege, I know.. Modifying such a beautiful machine). It's a massive 8" headlight and I want something a little smaller and sleek..
The other option is I could just go for twin circle headlights and be completely different (was tempted to do this on my GN250 I recently finished but was building for the misso and she wasn't too hot on the idea)
I could just find a non-LED 6" headlight off another bike, I guess..

Hey team,
Does anyone know if an aftermarket headlight for a motorcycle with integrated indicators (see image below) is legal smegal?
I'm going to assume no.. and to be fair, probably quite unsafe
but thought I would ask. -
I'll spend a bit of time giving it a good clean, putting it back together and presenting it as best as possible.
It's amazing what a water blast can do with a bit of elbow grease
I was hoping somewhere in the $500 to $1000 might have been the general consensus
Thanks!
And hey, if anyone on OS wants a project bike, get at me! -
Obviously something is worth whatever a buyer is willing to pay but I am hoping someone could give me a rough idea on price before I go and list it for sale..
It's a 1986 Yamaha XZ400 (Red and white)
Registration is on hold (Black plate)
Rectifier went plop and bike died, parked up under a tarp for 7 years. Haven't tried to start it since.
Bike is all there (Things that appear to be missing in photo are in shed) - Paint work has seen better days.
Could grab some more pictures if that would help with the process.
Just a rough ball park figure? Is worth selling as it is or listing up for parts and stripping out to help all the other XZ owners out there, bit by bit?

Recently did mine - 10 minutes on each headlight with generous amount of auto sol and then went over again with a wax/sealer
Went from barely being able to see past the frost to crystal clear. 6 months on and it's still like new- 1

I grabbed and shook everything I was able to grab but didn't get any movement.
I'll look for the 2nd mount (had heard there was a common issue with these going but didn't realise there was two mounts) and have a look there, as well as the strut mount, as well as the UJ.
Awesome, thanks guys - keep the suggestions coming.
I might strap a gopro under there and go for a drive to see if I can physically see anything -
Hello online mechanic friends..Wonder if anyone has come across this problem before, and if so - what was done to resolve.Car: 1996 Rav4Transmission: AutomaticProblem:When turning left there is a thud/donk/knock noise coming from the left rear side (from what it feels like from the drivers seat). It's a rotational sound, it's not at random. Also when travelling faster than 80kms there is a slight shudder coming from the rear diff but as soon as I take my foot off the accelerator the wobble disppears. What I have done:Replaced the diff oil with proper AWD diff oil supplied by Toyota - No change.I can see by looking underneath that the rear diff mount has been replaced at some stage. If you were to hazard a guess, what do you guys/gals think?Clearly a blown head gasket eh?

In my defense, the only pics that were displayed on the page was the painted cage!!
Now they all want to load

Has the cage already been homologated?
Unless you're a wizard of course have fingers in pies, you may find it hard to get it done with paint.
If you knew this, disregard and i'll be on my merry way

Owned by a bloke named Sheng Lu.
A friend of mine went with him to pick it up and they drove it from Taupo back down to Wellington and it didn't skip a beat. Friend of mine said it's an absolute beaut to drive.
I know thats not much to go by, but at least you know it doesn't make any funny knocking noises/sounds and it doesn't overheat!

Looking for some advice on how I can get this seat looking a little better than worse for wear..
Obviously a new cover will make it mint but I am looking at how I can make it look a little more respectful until I can be find a good quality original seat cover..
Any life hacks/tips or tricks?
