Really? Multiple returns from Google tell me otherwise. None of them seem to list them though.
In that case, any way to tell the diff ratio by an actual marking. It seems to be a 4.1 by turning the wheel and counting the pinion rotations, but I want a confirmed ratio.
-
Apparentally Toyota Hilux diff's don't have a marking on them to define its ratio but you can tell by the color of the paint on the face of where the diff bolts up.
Does anyone know what each colors ratio is? I have a Hilux diff in my S12, but I don't actually know what it's ratio is. I don't know what chassis Hilux it came from or what year its from.

Wheels aren't in my possession yet. I'm in the process of buying them form Japan.
The top photo has a picture on the wheel, but it isn't big enough or clear enough to be legible.

Can you not get a proper invoice emailled to you for the parts and have a false invoice on the package with a lower value on it.
I.e. You paid $900 for parts +freight. Invoice on package says you pay $350 or something?

Anyone have any idea what this wheel is.
I've established it's a Wed's wheel but I can't find what model.
Getting them for my S12, but want to try and find centre caps for them.
Looks like a wheel that Weds and BBS got together to produce.
Size is 16x8.5 +35 if that matters.

Id be keen on the 1uz lower manifold if its still available,
Wouldnt be able to come and pick it up but can courier you a box with some tickets to send it with.
I'm planning on picking up the whole lot this afternoon, if it's still there I'll get in touch as it's of no use to me. Otherwise, I'm going to be back in Rotorua so it's not as long a drive as going to Hamilton?

Have sent you a PM.

Did a little bit more on this today. Swapped out the Z32 rack-ends in the front for some slightly shortened S14 ones. I can actually get the wheels to point straight now rather than having massive toe out.
Also pulled the factory handbrake lever out so I can start adapting the tunnel for the S14 lever to go into it.

If you need somewhere quick and local, Repco sell the 5/16" bundy tube and fitting. Not as cheap as some of the other places though.

Brief update.
The trailer is definitely not at fault. Hooked it up to our other work ute and they work fine. Still can't find the problem with it so it's going to an electrician next week.

Try them. They import Cragar wheels. They also do the ones that bolt on with the wheel nuts.

The 888's are back order only... I am keen on a pair but 225 50's are way more common so i may just them instead. I run the 205's on an 8 inch rim but suggest they are not suitable for an 8.5 rim. Pics in my mazda thread.
Ahh I didn't know they were back order only. I know the T1R's are available in a 225/50 and 205/50. I put a set of them on my Grandads Studebaker.
For these BFGoodrich specs, the 205's max rim is 7.5 and 225's max is 8.5. Which is about the rim sizes I want to run anyway. The Toyo's in the 225/50 and 205/50 are around half the price though.
-
Has anyone ever run these two sizes before? The 225/45's are incredibly uncommon but available in a few heavy street/track patterns. (Nitto NT01, Toyo R888, Hankook RS3). 205/50's easy to get but hard to match.
Thinking of running these two sizes on my S12 on 7.5" front rims and 8.5" rear rims.
Main reason I ask is BFGoodrich have released a new tyre called a BFGoodrich g-Force Rival that I can get in from America (albeit it lots of $$$) that I'd like to try but don't know if the tyres are too small.

Ahhhh, kids aye. You'll have a money drain for a while yet then. Best to just gift the S12 to me...
Haha, I doubt this'll happen. If it comes down to it and I can't do anything to it for a while, I'd chuck it in a storage shed. In saying that, a lot of the stuff I still need to do is stuff that I'm just too lazy to do and that'd cost me bugger all. Like making a gearbox crossmember. Would probably be quite easy except I haven't got my ass around to doing it.

Long time. I've just had a daughter show up so money and time isn't as great as it was before.
-
Shhh... I like Y's.
Seriously though, I should get it changed... One day. I'll wait till the car is going first.

Japanese Import. I know in NZ it's spelt Silvia. I'm lucky with this one though, it's spelt the same as Japan:
My S14 was a 200SX as well. Silvia isn't quite in my vocabulary

Clean up the pins on the plug and give that a go.
Have done this already. Wire brushed them and saturated them with contact cleaner
-
Just another thought I had, is it possible an incorrect bulb in the ute may cause an issue with trailer wiring? I haven't checked them at all, but just trying to eliminate the easiest options first.
-
my first thoughts too lol.
looks like it coming along well.
be interested to learn a bit more about your S14 rack conversion. i replaced my S12 one, but the ratios arent that great.
keen toi see it in the flesh someday.
It was pretty easy. Just getting the spline shaft made up was the only thing. Cost a few $$$ to get done. (I don't know exact amount as it was done with a heap of other stuff.) Just getting the tie rod's sorted was the biggest problem.
One day!! Haha, gotta get it running first.

So the wiring at the plug on the ute is giving the problem with nothing connected?
I guess next is the pull the lights and check them to be fine / the wiring loom to the lights also.
I'm pretty sure it is the ute. Like I said, with the trailer not plugged in. I've tested the brake wire on the plug with every other wire (including the ground) and it has current. I pulled the rear lights and inspected them and there appears to be nothing wrong with them or the wires.
definately an earth problem, all your lights will be earthing through the stop bulb filaments then when the brake bulbs are powered up everything will go funny trying to find a path to earth. id say either there is no earth in your plug on the vehicle or its not getting through the plug or the wires broken somewhere. earth is the middle pin if its a rectangle plug
Plug definitely has the earth. I've checked that, and replaced the earth wire from the plug to where it joins the chassis loom.
Where I'm at now is actually pulling the chassis loom apart and inspecting the brake wires in there.
-
Definitely not the plug. That was the first thing I checked.

Sweet work boots
That's how it's suppose to be. That was a mate of mine doing all the welding. Pretty sure he burned himself a couple of times. His hands though, not his feet.

I thought about this, but I'm pretty sure it has been shortened so wouldn't work.
I'll just leave it, thanks for the replies!
