INTRODUCTION

This is my 1984 Fiat X1/9 project, I first got this car back in 2021 around a month after my 21st birthday as I had always wanted one, I found her sitting rotting away in a cul-de-sack near Isle Park here in nelson, I grew estatic to see one and was sadded to see how bad a shap the car was in, after a while of walking past it, my great uncle and I went to see if I could buy the car, we spoke to the owners, a lovley older couple and they agreed, at this point some how them being from christcurch came up and my mum also came up, turns out they used to teach my mother in highschool and even remembered her, it gets even weirder as one of mums old boyfriends lived with them as an exhange student and they had photos of my mum and him, I told mum about the car and to her supprise she remembered seeing it driving around Christchurch long ago, and so the project began with many rust repairs and ripping the car apart over and over.

The Car Becomes Road Legal

After a bunch of rust work and some mechanical bits the car finally became road legal, I drove it like this for a good while until the motor started to leak oil from just about every piece imaginable.

This year I got the motor rebuilt, did rust repairs in the engine bay ect.

Well, I thought the exhaust on my car sounded extremely shit since I got it back, turns out the header has this amazing big crack through it, I have no idea how they wouldve missed that taking the whole thing apart, so womp womp probably wont be driving the car for a while plus im nearly broke currently so, I probably cant get a new header until next year.

Well thanks to the awesome Dylan I got a new header for Filo, also taking the old one off it pretty much desintigrated into multiple bits and was only being semi held together because it was bolted to the motor check the pics, shit was turbo fucked

Well my dumb ass has lost the choke plate for my carburetor which is a big womp womp moment for me, may be sourcing a new carb to steal off but, still extremely frustrating and anxiety inducing as it was in the car in a plastic bag then poof, the whole car interior got pulled apart out of desperation and to no avail, so if there are people with spare x1/9 1500 carburetors around, may be handy to have a spare as my carb has issues anyway and is making my car run rich, it has also developed a miss from time to time which is worrying, it will probably be due to the car running rich, pictured below is a nice version of my carb but it shows the brass plate which has poofed on me if anyone has one thatd be mint, im nelson based
