Hirsch5858
OK, need a little help if you know. I have a JDM 1UZ-FE motor that has the wiring harness that matches a 1996 Lexus LS400. However I intend to use a metal body Mass Air Flow Meter and pig tail from a 1992 Lexus SC400. The wiring colors are different between the two. Can I just cross reference the 1 through 5 wires? For instance could I adapt the ? 1996 LS400 pin #1 (white) wire with the 1992 SC400 #1 (brown) 1996 Ls400 pin #2 (Blue/Yellow) with 1992 SC400 #2 (yellow /black) 1996 LS400 pin #3 (Yellow/black) with 1992 SC400 #3 (Yellow/Green) 1996 LS400 pin #4 (brown) with 1992 SC400 #4 (light blue/red) 1996 LS400 pin #5 (green/white) with 1992 #5 sc400 (brown) This for a project car not a Lexus
Mike Simmonds
I wouldnt think you can swap the second generation 1uz airflow meters with the first as the first gen are 5 volt and the second are 12volt? I think the second gen are a hot wire airflow sensor and first gen aren't so the Ecu might not like it.
Hirsch5858
Thanks Mike for taking your time and for the feed back. I did notice that the 2nd gen had heavier gauge wiring, makes sense if they went to 12V. I will start looking for a 2nd gen MAF.
