di0n Posted October 8, 2014 Share Posted October 8, 2014 So I recently completed a manual conversion and RB25DE swap in my Aus spec R31 wagon. Got all the gauges working fine. Drove it a few times with no problems. But the speedo was reading a bit wrong because of the diff ratio. It's an electronic speedo, not a cable one, so I got an speedo calibration unit from jaycar. Then the day I went to get it out of the shed to install it the speedo wouldn't work at all. I know the dash units cause problems so I had that checked by an auto sparky and it's working fine. I have continuity between the speedo drive unit and the dash. Is there a chance the actual speedo drive unit has failed at the gearbox? My battery seems to have died at the same time and won't hold a charge so I have been jump starting it, could lack of power be my problem?
