Hello all. I have a 1982 Holden Gemini, it is getting a CA18DET and 5 speed conversion sometime this year. I was just wondering about electronic speedometers. Some of my questions include, can you get a certification with a electronic speedometer? Will I be able to get one to work off of a CA 5-speed gearbox (I've never dealt with any Japanese cars so I have no idea. If they have a electronic speedo or not?) Thanks to any body who has the slightest information on this subject.

cert would be no problem at all; either as a retro fit in the dash, or a floating mount, I think either would be fine. But it would have to be accurate within +/- 5kph

, as for whether the engine has one or not couldn't say.

If you can't get an electronic sender that's a straight fit into that box... Then there are many other options to make it work.

Aftermarket speedos eg autometer are adjustable to suit any diff/ tire size etc

hey man

i recently did a ca into my ke70. im using a rb20 mechanical speedo to factory cluster.

its pretty close, about 8km/hr faster. But ive got 13'' rims on.

Also a rb box is 75mm shorter then a ca/sr box if your fighting space.

Hope it helps.
