So the air con compressor in the ute/truck is shart.

Im looking at changing it out for another.

Is there any reason other than different plugs and mounting hardware why I cant use one from another make/model of vehicle?

eg...my truck is a nissan navara and I buy one from a BMW. If I change the plug and mounts would it still work.

Be careful, when a compressor shits the bucket internally, the entire gas system including dryer, condensor, evaporator and TX valve fill up with a whole bunch of tiny metal fillings. Your new / 2nd hand compressor will last all of 2 mins. The system needs to be flushed and usually your dryer replaced as a minimum.

Is your truck a NZ new one with and aftermarket kit or something? If its factory air con you should be able to find another replacement compressor otherwise I'd just get your one repaired.

Shouldn't be hard to remove unless it some Aussie aftermarket crap but get gas removed first.
