sweedazz101
Hola peeps of the interwebs, first actual update of anything resembling work on the 'beast'. So I have been looking round Auckland for panel-beaters that would do the back bumper and front corner but no one really wants to touch it. Have been quoted average $800 so have politely said no and walked away. The week before I got it the guy was reversing up a steep driveway and just as he got to the top a brand new Merc came down. Hence the awkward damage. But it also pushed it sideways into the wall which lead to the front damage. Found some bog from a previous crash there too haha. So if there is anyone on here who knows a panel-beater that would do this kinda stuff please let me know Also found a kinda big spot of rust which I removed. Bit of a black hole really, but lack of welding equipment mean it has to stay as is... So things I've actually done on the car. Well today (with the help of a far more electronically gifted friend) we (meaning mainly him) put my Dukes of Hazard horn back in. It stopped working due to overuse haha so gave it to another mate who had a look at it. He said that there was a possibility it had seized up, and after an hour or so of rewiring and reconnecting it seemed it had done just that. So yeah that was my day. Thought i'd give OS some cheap laughs feel free to reply about anything on here. Suggestions are welcome. Bai for now and hopefully next update will be a more constructive one
sweedazz101
Terrible update follows. After looking round pics of peoples cars on OS I decided to get off my ass and achieve some progress. So I booked in with a reupholstery place out in Howick and am going to get all the problems with the seats fixed up. Along with that, looking at a new manifold for a bigger carb but final price will determine whether or not that happens. So yeah, wasted a minute of your life but hey. Will post pics of reupholstery when its done. Chur,
sweedazz101
Did someone say, progress? Finally an update of some actual work on the 'beast' Got the front seats re-constructed and reupholstered Before: After So happy with them. Couldn't get the exact same match but I think it's as close as i'll get. So up next is panel beating and then engine
sweedazz101
Best addition to date. Not much been done lately, getting a wheels balancing soon. Dependent on whether I find lock nut key... think i'm just gonna smash em off and get some new ones, seems like the best idea. Trying to get it ready for Cannonball Run 12' aww yeah. sweedazz101
Howdy. So quite a lot of work has been done of late. Mostly by my friend (14fast) with me being a trusty and helpful supervisor and tool getter Extractors have been welded in ...in hindsight I should have taken a photo before I'd driven it Sounds very nice with the 2" setup. All it needs now is the big carb and it will be a nice cruiser Replaced rear pads and slave cylinders so the car actually stops now which is rather handy.. Also bought some quarter bumpers and sanded the back and painted to match the black is amazing at hiding the dents sanded and painted the windows wipers while I was going crazy with the spray paint So quite happy with it really everything is sweeeeeet. Big thanks to Shane without whom my car probably wouldn't be going Chur.
