QCADTA Posted November 7, 2009 Author Share Posted November 7, 2009 Bit of a small update, went and got some grommets to plug the holes in the floor before i put in the best ive got off trade me yet, black carpet front and rear in good nic for only $20 just needs another lux. and the passenger side, also got one of these to sort the erratic idle out with the hks bov, after sortin out the wiring, and small tune, it now runs like a dream so after that i took it for its first spin in the wet, interesting to say the least, still spinning both bags in 4th all the way down the street cant wait till i crank the boost up a bit Quote Link to comment Share on other sites More sharing options...
QCADTA Posted December 30, 2009 Author Share Posted December 30, 2009 Slight change of plan with colour again this will be the last time. also made a catch for it, just need to get a breather filter didnt like the over riders so took them off to. bumper just needs a polish. also got round to givin the rear quarter acut n polish. next up will be the new fuel gauge thats in the post. QCADTA Posted January 2, 2010 Author Share Posted January 2, 2010 well after lookin around for some front bumpersand to tight to pay what some people are askin for them, i got board and decided to make my own had a spare rear bumper lyin around so out with the angle grinder By qcadta then after some more cuttin, odd bash with the hammer, and a bit of welding, i came up with a couple of these By qcadta then a trial fit, By qcadta then gave them a bit of a smooth out and close enough to finished. call me tight By qcadta now have the task of makin them shinyer, and makin some bracketsto hold them on. all good. QCADTA Posted April 28, 2010 Author Share Posted April 28, 2010 after gettin the hilux back on the road its now time to get the escort back on track. Done some small things, replaced the boots on the TCA's and the tie rod ends, started makin the bumper irons etc. and after gettin some rather large quotes to make an exhaust i thought f!#k it,ill make my own. so went and got some tube, bends and a flexi, and cut up my old 63mm exhaust off my old evo for a resonator and a muffler first was the dump pipe, bit of pissin around but got it pretty spot on, will wrapit in heat wrap to stop it goin to close to things in the engine bay, probably not a necessity but will do anyway. and got the rest made up to the diff, so just got to make that up,mount the muffler, the hangers, andget some gaskets. i can see why some notch the floor for 3" exhausts, not much room! QCADTA Posted May 30, 2010 Author Share Posted May 30, 2010 got my hilux cables shortend and made an adapter so the escort lever would take the two cables and give me plenty for adjustment. hand brake works good = win. also changed the top mounts to solid mount pillow balls, just had to make some bushes on the lathe at work to adapt them to the escort strut. almost like adding power steering to the old girl. have also done a few other things but will post those updates when i get round to taking some more pics Quote Link to comment Share on other sites More sharing options...

QCADTA Posted July 10, 2010 Author Share Posted July 10, 2010 finally got round to makin some bumper mounts for the 1/4 bumpers i made. was a bit tricky gettin the bends right but got there in the end. also got a 12" fan mounted, had to make some new radiator mounts for it. got it switched off a 82-87deg switch so will see how this goes for a start. made some pedal rubbers. just puttin some small finishing touches on her before a warrant check. QCADTA Posted August 21, 2010 Author Share Posted August 21, 2010 after lookin for a gear lever boot i went to the wreckers and spotted this, looked close enough and with a small mod it fits like cock in sock. its off a holden astra. i also rebuilt the steering rack, and steering coupling with nolathane bushes, reshimmed the rack to suit and its good as new. and took it for a warrant check today, flew through with only a headlight needing adjusting. all good so just need to get it certed now, then wof sticker, rego, then drive. QCADTA Posted October 24, 2010 Author Share Posted October 24, 2010 havent been up to much, but gave the escort its first wash yesterday. also got the new plate on it as well just after it was registered and warranted. Still havent got round to gettin a mate to put the stripes on, but cant rush these things Also had a slight driveshaft vibration which was only minor but enough to be annoying, so had to raise the gear box to get my pinion to gearbox angle the same, so had to raise the trans tunnel which means my consoul no longer fits, but driveline is now smooth as. But also had to lengthen my dump pipe off the turbo as the raise in gbox raised the ass of the engine as well. also had to put a rsm in as well, smaller steering wheel and lower seat height meant i could only see the speedo to about 60kph and not much of the loud dial either. QCADTA Posted February 1, 2011 Author Share Posted February 1, 2011 Havent been up to much on the escort lately but have changed the colour of the front bumperettes to black and many thanks to crazy_rich who did me a good deal on a t25g to replace the rb25det turbo whose oil seals decided to let go. so back to a standard manifold, s/s dump pipe and a new down pipe for the exhaust, which i some how managed to fuck up as it now sits an inch closer to the ground than the old exhaust, and a few more alterations under the hood to get things to work. one will remedy situation when one can be naffed been for a few short trips and is alot nicer to drive, spools quicker and no more smoke on over run = win. Opinions welcome.
