Do you think we need to use the big kitchen? Its only for one night We can just get food In Hamner?
The Fish n Chip shop on the main street in Hamner does the best chicken nugget n chips
-
Happy to pick people up from the airport and take to hanmer. Will most likely have 2 seats available in the bogantina
Whoever does airport pickups needs to buy this

7.5" might squeeze on the rear (time to get the tape measure out) and then you can go matching 7s on the front prehaps
-
I was out in Darfield picking up another cortina and did not get back in time for the show.
Keen for the meet on the 3rd
O snap I didn't know we had any spare cortinas out this way
-
Oh bummer it was good, I only heard about it through Facebook will try and make a thread abit sooner next time.
-
Whos going to the All Ford Day at Wigram today?
-
Mate Darfield is were all the cool cats live haha On a serious note though if your working in Darfield mabe cheaper to rent in Darfield, Kirwee, Coalgate or Glentunnel or one of the other small towns we got dotted over the place.

I've been thinking about attacking the rust around the windscreen on my mk4 cortina while its off the road. Would you be interested in traveling out Darfield way and removing the front and rear windscreen and then a few weeks later putting them back in?
If so would you have a rough idea of cost?....(about an hours drive out of chch)

The only question I have is above you said open to anything oldschool japanese. Just wondering about other countries I guess?
-
-
Yea I thought it was odd too. One place told him it could take a week maybe a month. I guess the shops are busy enough they don't need to "muck" with what they are not use to.
-
Just tune it yourself. That's what we do
I like this idea although I have trouble with my smart phone haha So hopefully oneday I will learn how.
SPEC performance have tuned at least 1 I know of, apparently he was quite impressed, give them a shot.
My mate rang them, said he had done a couple. Didn't really like megasquirt and wasn't overly interested in doing another.
Cheers for the suggestion though.
-
Thanks for your help
My mate spoke to him and yes he will tune megasquirt but he doesn't like it and recommend that he riped it out.
Something for anyone thinking of going aftermarket ecu to think about thats for sure.
-
Hi guys (& gals)
A friend of mine has just spent quite abit of coin getting a megasquirt ECU wired up in his skyline. The problem now is he carn't find anyone in Chch who wants to tune it. Hes tried NZ EFI and a few others but everyone seems to shy away from megasquirt.
Does anyone know of a place for megasquirt tuning in this neck of the woods?
Thanks
Will

The parts mk4 is just a GL so no tacho dash, however I think I have one in my shed so will have a look for you. My Wag is quite rusty, the duct tape over the front guard is hiding the rusted away windscreen scuttle/front guard and bog. its main purpose was to keep the water out during its first wash since 2007.
I will send you a PM regarding the cortina club, Im a member but not sure at this stage if im going to renew my membership.
Ahh I see, only problem with cortys they love to rust are you planing on fixing up the mk2 one day?
I think I only need that bottom steel bit that goes up under the wood grain as thats what the head unit mounts too. Although I'd be keen on a whole dash if you had it. Then I'll have to find a place to mount speakers as at the moment I just got the centre dash one and don't want to cut holes in my door cards ;(
-
its probably only good for parts, the rego is dead, that yellow mk4 was very well done.
Lotus Cortina's are far too common these days... There were much more interesting cars there
Argh spotted! you got me... I was reppin oldschool in the mk5 bogantina and had the realy rusty white mk2 cortina wagon there too.
Hmm ok I might pass then (no doubt I'll regret it lol) thanks for the offer though......ooh its it a mk4 ghia? I would like a mk4 ghia dash if you know of one? As I don't want to cut mine up to fit a stereo.
Your mk5 looked good shines up not to bad ay Also looks better with a grill since last time I saw it that was missing. I remember your wagon too me and my mate decided it was "true rat look" rather than rusty haha
Out of interest are you a member of that Classic Cortina club that ran the show? I brought a Haynes manual off a guy the other week and he told me about that club too rekoned their was quite a few young fullas in it. Was just wondering if that was true cause it could be a good thing to be apart of but not to keen on sitting round with old guys listening to how much their Lotus's are worth if you know what I mean

The few photos I took can be found there, I didnt even get any Lotus Cortinas on film what a slack guy.
P.S I think I may of got a certain OS members mug shot in there not 100% sure though?
-
Umm prehaps is it a project worthy car or just for parts? Whats the rego status?
On other note how good did that yellowish mk4 look at the show......friggin loved it ay
-
Ok so it was interment not small then lol I brought a indicator lense off that Enford guy Since the indicator I got from the wrecker had a hole in it grr
-
You could of sold me the hotwires first haha
Proceeds are cool though and sound good been such a big 4 banger
-
Was good for a small show, even managed to buy a part for my cortina.
I took a couple of happy snaps but carn't remember my photobucket login so you'll have to wait for now.
