spotted a Ferrari? on brougham st
this was down by the river in Woolston
and a Ford Thames truck all alone in a yard

Funny how the wheels got you excited so you mounted them lol.
Seriously, this things comin along nicely. Those wheels should polish up all good on the lips and think they are satin centers so might take well to being painted? Are those black steelies in background another option?

spotted on Maces road
and spotted this beast just off Moorhouse Ave

Try bigger tyres?
I put bigger profile tyres on my L200 which closed up the gap a bit,
couldnt put hardly any weight in the back with low profiles either and thats no good to me
It all depends what you want to use your ute for and how far you want to go coz you could notch it and bag it etc.
probably not worth it if you only trying lose 1" tho
slightly higher profile tyres on the rear might do it

Suggestions for a meet in march?
Breakfast at guvs bay hotel followed by picnic at orton bradley park? - Family friendly
I like the sound of this
-
Hey mate, great to have members from other countries and to see how you guys roll.
machinegun thru bonnet, yeah
-
How'd you go with sorting that rust? The one thing that (almost) all projects have in common.
-
Damn I clicked on this thinking there was drinks by a riverside? on Thursday
-
Great pics Andrew. Was cool to meet those of you I did get to talk with. Had a good chat with Bigfoot, and your right mate, the Avenger needs that front end smacked with the lowering stick something bad. Good to see others cars in the flesh as it were.
Look forward to more, party on

Somehow missed this topic before. Wouldve been keen to hillclimb my (br)ute
-
Mine must be nana/grandad-spec haha,
How bout this colour-scheme lol:
-
Hey just noticed your tacho is same as one Ive had for years now, been in a few of my old cars and currently resides in the Avenger. Does yours read accurately? Mine reads good at lower revs and jumps up quickly with a blip on throttle but the higher the revs get the needle gets more reluctant to move, it seems to slow down so when motor is doing probably about 3500rpm its only reading about 2000-2500. Yes I have had a fiddle with the 4-6-8 switch

1ton.. number plate zepha6? thats my neighbour clive, his son had a mint metallic blue one and sold it for a real mint grey one
Wonder if that grey 1 was the Zeph I saw on Xmas eve? Love those Mark 3s
Also saw this a while back (apologies, my cellphone has worst camera ever)
-
Saw another Mark 3 Zeph heading down Linwood Ave today, just as mint but in classic snifter green
-
Some missing and farting from the motor all of a sudden was enough to motivate me to update some motor bits: new dizzy cap, new rotor and ballast resistor
While changing the rotor I bumped the points wire and it completely broke off from the points as if it was barely hanging on so I think I found what was causing the miss. Popped in the spare set for now.
Also noticed that the amp meter wasnt reading anything for a while but didnt think much of it til I got a flat battery so off to the shop again for a new voltage regulator
That reminds me, gotta paint that engine bay lol

Dont know bout the boot but do you need one of these shifter humps when fitting a floorchange?
http://www.ingear.co.nz/EcoShop/126/4-Speed-Shifter-Hump-VKU2885.aspx
I know its for a 4 spd but would it give more clearance?
Ingear also sell the plenum repair panels to suit CMs
-
Heaps of sweet old cars out lately, saw a Mark III Zephyr cruising down Linwood Ave on Xmas eve (but didnt have my camera handy)
looked just like the one below only silver and single exhaust
-
Sam, this car is awesome, the pics do not do it justice.
I look forward to a ride in the back seat one day
I wouldve liked a ride in the back before floor gets fixed
-
Dont worry me too much on the date but need to know for certain so I can offload the numerous offspring or my meet will have to be in the carpark haha
-
Yeah I put my Valiant through for WOF half an hour before the start and got pinged on 3 minor things, bugger. Wanted to take it on the cruise more than have it parked up for show but I thought better not risk it.
So... if anyone there was wondering who turned up to the show n shine in a ratty Avenger then yeah, that was me.
Would definitely make for a good meet next year, cool cars and warm fuzzies

Those early commies are soo under-rated, compact cars that can take 4, 6 or V8 motors
I like the look of the VKs, tho they were slightly bigger than previous models so carry a little more weight
At least it should be a cheapish daily if you stick with the starfire for now
Keep up the good work
