hey man, like what you did with the rear seat belt. Im looking at fitting rear belts in the Valiant also. Did you get the WOF with the new belt fitted?

Well, spent most of the holidays either camping at the river or working on our other main project = our house/backyard etc.
So back to the 'venger
geez it was real grotty when I got it
so gave it a good clean inside and out.
I decided to change the ripped seats for these ones that came as spares
bit more bearable now
random find under drivers seat, an IHC tag with the 'vengers number plate stamped on it
thought it would be good idea to get all the spares outta the boot and see what Ive got
actually turned out to be quite a few good parts, some NOS still packaged but because of where previous owner had stored the spares at his place (outside!) they boxes are near rooted. Got a few handy items like mint lights, sun visors, carbies, dizzy & caps, coils, ignition & key, fuel pump, even a complete fuel line.
was having a play with the bonnet release (which was a frayed bit of cable sticking out the grill) and noticed a broken piece of the grill that wasnt so obvious
had a spare piece of grill from one of my other projects sitting nearby (VG Valiant) so just for the hell of it I chucked it in front of the 'venger grill and it fit in the space so well it almost looks made for it, needs a little adjusting but you get the idea
so I am currently swapping the indicator switch for one of the better spare ones
you can see that the aftermarket gear knob has been biffed for the original knob and it now has a tacho
and polishing the fins on the Turbos
thats all for now, cheers -
alrite, wtf is this? spotted in Woolston
chevette wagon spotted in Sydenham

I like Vauxhall Crestas, spotted this sweet Cresta on chrome mags in Bromley today
have seen it on the streets of chch quite a bit over the years

You definitely raised the bar with that last Avenger mate. The new one looks badass already and sure will be with the intended V8.
I had been mulling over dropping a 3.8 V6 in mine but have other things to do first.
-
^^ you could fit two of those Fiats in that parking space
spotted this ZA Fairlane in Bromley
-
If I parked my VG next to yours it will just make yours look even better haha.
But yeah, very keen to meet up with yourself and the rest of the Mopar crowd (or any of the GCs on here really). Now that Im not doing engineering work I dont have access to welding/sheetmetal fabrication/sandblasting/powdercoating etc so need some hook ups for the odd job.
Oh yeah, have you still got that AP5?

That Merc just popped up on facebook for sale again, looks like the owners recovered it finally.
Be interesting to know whats up with it.
Was camping out Coes Ford for a couple days and spotted a few cars worthy of mention (but couldnt get the camera out fast enough). Saw the matt black twin to Felix's Anglia(with roof racks), a dark green Wolseley and a mint VE/VF hardtop being trailered.
On the way back into town spotted this Escort wagon (lol at birdshit on my windscreen)

Whoa, very nice Alfa, 4cyl or V6?

Geez somehow missed this thread.
So is that MX5 running gear? Was mulling over repower options for the Avenger and thought about the MX5 driveline, wondered why more people dont opt for them.
Some nice engineering Pete (sucking up), gonna go for the sleeper look or something different?
-
Haha I like what you did with that suitcase. That noise would be good for scaring birds away from perching on the racks and doin their buisness.
Need to keep an eye out for one of those vintage AA badges too.
-
Had a road-user sticker so its most likely the same car
-
I doubt it will sit there for much longer
-
spotted this '72 Merc 230 at Countdown Moorhouse Ave
then I noticed the pink sticker
asked the checkout ladies about it and they said its been sitting there since Sunday. Abandoned?
Couple of enquiries already been left on it/ in it
