  1. I Just can't justify why the ZN TRD version is 20k more than the stock, Which is half the price of the car. Shit.

    edit:

If you buy the standard 86 and say you want some TRD parts upgrade

    TRD brake kit = 13k

    TRD SF2 wheels = 7k

20k already, don't even need to list the rest, that makes the TRD version with all the gears a better deal...

  2. I'd still take brand new TRD 86 over that GTR

Obviously you haven't been in a new GTR

What makes you think of that? My work have sold several of them, been driven and even worked on those, so what

everyone is entitled to their own opinion. Also you miss the fact that the scenario is you only have 65k to spend and you can't afford a new GTR which is sub 100k car 2nd hand, 200k if top spec new. Just be realistic...

  3. 1700kg, oh, just same as a Holden V8 Commodore, just bit slightly less of horse power, like 350 of them :)

I am so confused now with 64-65k. TRD Or 1 dollar GTR? 1983 again?

    http://www.trademe.co.nz/motors/used-ca ... 205165.htm

That GTR is 4 years old and the bid was 75k in last auction, hardly a fair comparison... wait 4 years and see what price the 86 goes for  I'd still take brand new TRD 86 over that GTR and I already got the perfect number plate for it lol

  4. Good Question Dee.

I wanted ask the same thing.

Mind you tho, There are lot more 86s in OZ than in NZ. Price is about the same, even after exchange rate. Not sure the conditions etc.

Also, Some body told me that It's better to get the steam cleaned etc here than in OZ. Cost is huge difference.

Most are Levins over there, have a look this and you'll have an idea, only one Trueno and it's a notchback

    http://www.carsales.com.au/car/brand%20 ... yword=ae86

Car will get steam cleaned over there anyway once shipped over, what's the difference?

  5. Hmm, tempting, but I already have velocity stacks for a silvertop, How many kms has the AE111 done? any differences being auto? All sensors on the motor, etc still the same eh?

Engine is exactly the same auto or manual, well auto has flexi plate instead of flywheel :P All sensors and connector are the same, engine done 200ks so might be good to give it a fresh up when swap silvertop rods in.

Will put it up for sell along with the car soon before I move.

  6. mild sheet at S&T petone 0.6mm $33 plus gst, 0.8mm $43 plus, and so on.

stuff around all you want, nothing will be cheaper and easier than getting a full sheet new.

Cheers for the pricing Manu, a full sheet it is, much less than what I expected to be honest that's why I'm asked here for help and glad I did :thumbleft:

  7. are you avoiding getting a full sheet (not much bigger then 2sqM) or finding it hard to get the correct thickness?

I've been told full sheet is massive... also I have been to couple metal fabricators, they happy to sell me some off cuts for cheap but they are not big enough and too thick :? plz point me to the right direction

  8. Could be the go, I'm after better window trims, and what not (clippy things and shit), among other things. Also anyone got (or point me in the right dirction of) a Silvertop 20v for sale, want one thats done under 150,000 with loom.

Have a near complete auto AE111 BZG with blacktop 20V, still drives, easy to get on to trailer, will sell the whole thing cheap if you keen, if you take your time selling the parts off the car you might end up with a free blacktop pretty much.

I recon map sensored blacktop are better, all you need are silvertop rods to make blacktop bullet proof,

  9. Thanks alot zep, it is the Victoria state that I'm going to in next couple years. Looks like gonna need to do some more research on it. By the time the AE86 would be over 30 years old and there will be much less restrictions like the emission etc.

But if it's like you said that you have to treat the car like a scratch built hotrod then it would be easier to just swap back to 4AGE and T50 before shipping and strap the beams or f20c setup on a pallet then ship over in the same container as personal belongings

  10. To VG, I'll do the bumpers satin black, but i reckon i'll take the skirts off they detract from the fine lines of the wee machine.

    l

I'd be keen on the skirts if you don't need them any more, either cash or swap with 86 parts if you need any, I've got quite a collection

  11. What about heavily modded ones? like with beams 3SGE or S2000 F20C and hilux diff etc etc, can you still get permit to ship the car over and get it road legal in Aus? Does the car has NZ Low Volume Cert make a difference or not at all? What about blacktop 20V conversion? Still 4AGE, will it make things easier?

Any input would be appreciated as this will affect my project build directions, cheers.
