When you click over 25, can you call up your current insurer and be all "lower price now plz"?.
Biggest let down, when I turned 25 I phoned up my insurance companies (stock daily with AMI, the modified one with NAC) and was like, "yo, I'm 25 giz cheaper premiums" Summary of the responses was nope, that doesn't happen 30 is the new 25 or something iirc and you just get cheaper excess.

lowl. i has an RB aliexpress fannymold sitting here at work.
such a lol design and more bent than a $9 note
A mate brought a nice shiny China-spec stainless manifold for his 2JayZee. Nicely made, tidy welds etc... then they did a magnet test and found while the runners were stainless steel the flange wasn't

Edit: you don't happen to know if he went with the 9 or 12 blade turbine wheel do you?

Shall find out what chur'bro mate runs on his S14 circuit car. It's one of those Kinugawa turbos. Similar size to a TD05 iirc. Comes on boost nicely etc. On E85 was good enough for 300rwkw at about 20psi on an internally stock SR20DET.
edit
The thing ended up trapping near 120mph, which is pretty decent going - so he decided to get a couple of power runs down on R's garage's (ex-Shred) dynapack to see what it's making... result was just over 270rwkw on it's ~17psi track boost level, and just under 300rwkw on 20psi. Full boost reached at about 3500rpm, and making over 200rwkw by 4000rpm - not bad for a $900 turbo on a stock 2litre engine, I reckon
Clip of dyno run here:
Out of interest, the car runs flex fuel so had around 80% ethanol at the time of the dyno run - but on that note, we also ran out of injector... so couldn't go any higher in boost if we wanted to, so not too sure how much more the turbo would have given but it's fair to say 300kw @ wheels with that kind of response makes for a pretty impressive setup, even not considering the price.- 2

Also auto 3S Altezza's had lower a compression ratio and less aggressive cams iirc

Nice driving Rhys!

Are all of the rounds held on track 2?

Not the first time I've seen/heard of a car being registered so late after being built. Boss many moons ago brought a Starlet which was built in '91 but not registered till '93 or '94. It just simply sat dormant on the car lot basically. Got move around a few yards but no one wanted that particular car.

Gay, both my cars ('97 Corolla and '98 Galant) fall into the shitter bands for their models, if they were one year newer they would be in the "safer" band which is BS. There would be no safety improvements for either the year later (both have dual airbags, ABS etc)

Dads cousin had one of these, owned since new too. Sold it maybe two or three years ago. Immaculate, always garaged and ran it on LPG. Even removed and stored the badges away in the shed to avoid someone pinching them.

5speed 1ZZ Corolla gearbox can suffer from shitty bearings though Rhys.

Americans play with the ol AZ motors to somewhat good effect

All good. There was a thread on Toyspeed I was going to link too but the pictures are gone

Common for this to happen. There will be a dry solder on the circuit board that needs fixing iirc

how often does mad mikes pref blow up? never
now often do sr20 blow up?
all the time.
b pref is the cheapest hp in the long run. can do a season of racing with just oil changes and spark plugs. they are pretty much just as good as porsches
Not sure if the OP has the budget that Mad Mike has for engines. Have heard that early in his Red Bull days in one year engine work bill was as much as 100k...

Quite keen on hot wings from De Coree

I have pretty much the exact same exhaust setup on my 20v and was only around 88 decibels when it got checked by the certifier.

For camshaft run in I see you guys (Kelfords) say that you should not run synthetic oil. Should I be using proper engine run in oil or just a non - synthetic oil such as Castrol Modern engine?

Mr kpr, can i get some light shed on my plan.
Currently have 20v (stock cams, 11.5:1 compression) with A/M headers, 2.5" exhaust with two moderately sized donuts (straight through) and what i believe to be one of those turbo flow style mufflers.
I like the current sound as its not raspy. But im wanting to ditch that last muffler as its waaay too quiet on track and replace it with 2.5" mild steel straight pipe. Would you say it should keep the current tone but just make it louder?
While I remember, ended up making a straight pipe to replace the muffler for a trackday in the weekend.
Result was a nice tone that wasnt raspy, was louder than before without being too intense. Was extremely happy with the outcome.

I've written a letter for a customer who had an AE86 registered with the incorrect name (meant to be Corolla Levin and they had it down as just a Corolla, something to that effect).
Included a copy from our parts catalogue stating what it should be registered as along with all the chassis numbers to prove.
He sent it away and they ammended it no problem.

Good to see you might have seen the light Sean. Looking into buying some R33 GTR rims, good man.

I got one of these and they are brilliant. There are probably cheaper options around but these are nice to use and makes it super easy
