when did theybring back forced induction? And wtf is a MGU-H?
They went back to 1.6L v6 turbos Last year. my very basic understanding is They now have 2 types of Energy Recovery System onboard, MGU-H (motor gererator unit) coverts the turbo rotation into electricity and stores in the batteries, the MGU-K collects Kinetic energy from braking (Through the crank) also stores it in the batteries. They get something like 33 seconds a lap of electric power boost of 130 odd hp, which is run back through the mgu-k to the wheels.

Hes such a fucking muppet.
Best thing for F1 would be, way bigger simpler aero (circa 2004), fuck the over complicated ers off in favour of a the previous system, and organise the race schedule so they arent constsntly going back and forth across the globe all year (all asia pacific, then americas, then europe & middle east etc) That would save a fortune for all teams.
although its a tricky one as it should be then pinnacle with essentially no rules but then only 1-2 teams would continue due to costs

god i hate that smarmy Hamilton prick.

Whoever is backing Maldonado is the most patient / stupid person ever, he's so fucking useless, missing pit entry, spin for no reason, then the Button contact.
Good race from 5th back

Its a bit of a joke when only 15 cars start a race. Then the whole debacle with Sauber and what happened to Marussia? they were there but not racing, they really need to sus out a way to make it more affordable as without the teams there is no F1, I understand this is somewhat counter productive with the "Pinnacle of motor-sport" that F1 is, but it needs to happen, it needs to be less complicated.
How about Sainz and Verstappen before he crapped out!!! KIMI was going awesome too before his pit crew fucked it for him TWICE!!!

FYI, if you own a car for over a year while living overseas, you can bring it back as part of some "returning residents" exemption thing. My olds did it bringing their '06 SL500 merc back from the UK a couple years ago. Doesnt have to meet any standards at all.

First piece of advice is......The gearbox is still called a K50 even tho its behind a A series engine.
Will need a new fuel feed line (8mm ish) from the tank to the engine bay, use the standard feed as the return.
Will need a "custom" clutch basically a 4age cover and a K50 splined plate.
the rest is just wiring pretty much, factory radiator etc will be fine, stick to using all FWD water pumps and pullys etc rwd shit is expensive and uncecessary.

If you can get "legit" SET of jap wheels in a 15X8/9 0ish offset for less than a grand feel free to send the link, need to double that based on what i've been looking at lately, then there is the wait and the unease of buying from overseas if you don't know people etc etc
At the end of the day its a K series with like 50 HP its not a race car it doesn't need forged wheels.

I spent about an hour and a half trying to chisel a section out of an ae92 floor to weld into my fxgt and then realized I was chiseling slightly in the wrong area. Gave up and went home.
Just set a new bar for "Rough Cunt".......fuck me

Tax isn't a bad thing.. we don't pay for an ambulance but in oz you need ambulance insurance, if you don't and need a ride to the horsepiddle $$$$..
Its about $850 AUD from what I hear.
I cant really comment for cost of living anywhere but Perth and Melbourne/Ballarat to an extent, Perth is approx 20% more expensive than the rest of Aus for EVERYTHING just because of the mining money, Melbourne / Ballarat is much of a muchness compared to CHCH.
As for housing, Again Perth is FUCKED nothing short of 400k and thata poxy ass unit in a block of 3 or 4 where there used to be 1 house, Have looked at property in Brisbane / Goldy, very similar to CHCH if not cheaper (EQ price hike) 400k will get you a brand new 3-4 bed house on 6-700m section, maybe a little bit cheaper in Ballarat, but then again it is Ballarat.
Putting all that aside tho as I am now making 4 times what i was making as a qualified sparky in NZ 3 years ago, however the work is "casual" so not really secure.

From Sam Q engineering in Aus http://www.s-86.com/ looks to do only Toyota stuff, but i cant see similar things being too hard to make if you know an engineer / are handy with a die grinder lol

Cheers bro, I got a decent redundancy payout so wasn't too worried. I actually made money out of getting made redundant AND got a job that pays more lol.
Ah thats an early prototype id imagine, was the only pic i could find at the time, can see how its a different shape to the bottom "production" style one
-
Managed to score a new job after getting made redundant last month, so brought the car a present.
It re routes the water pipes to a more RWD friendly layout, as its a monumental fuckup behind the engine at the moment.
donno when ill be back in NZ to fit it but im sure itll be there waiting for me whenever that might be

Yeah ill come out to some drift days, have been in and out of drift south etc since the start essentially so that's def the plan as well as more grip days.
Ah not enough lol, the water lines do "U" turns in the recess and the thermostat etc too so there is a bit going on in there
-
Got made redundant from work so decided to come back to NZ and play cars for a week or so.
Picked the car up from my mates place and made it immobile about 20 mins after getting it home. Swapped out subframes with the AE70, had to rip the engine out, proceeded to smash the dizzy to bits, but i guess thats par for the course.
Just gotta plug the wires back in,top her up with oil and she should be good to go. Oh and track down an AE85/6 manual steering column as i had to put the 70 one in and its slightly different mounting spacing, so if you have / know of one im keen!!!!
subframe out of the 70
had to hire an engine crane to get the 4ag out, only hired it for 4 hours, had the engine out, subframe out, new subframe in and engine back in in 3.5 hours. Ideal
Sligtly wider track these days lol might have to do something about that lol
