That's what I ran in my old vauxhall, worked perfectly to run two 6x9's and was completely hidden. Just a little cable from under the dash
-
Haha cheers man, only noticed after I chucked photos up!

Cheers man. There's a few around but yea, quite expensive

Do it man, 3 x $8 paint cans and a few hours work, mostly waiting for paint to dry haha
I was real keen to paint the car a different colour but am now really happy with it.
Plan to do thinner stripes down the bottom of the doors as well

Hey guys,
I've had this golf for around a year now and have done a lot to it.
When I picked it up it wouldn't idle what so ever and just didn't run well generally, timing was so out.
Kept cutting out (electrical problems as well) had AA get it going 3 times before I got it home (9 hour drive).
That's basically as it's had a 1.6 KJET swapped in over the original 1.1 carby and had a lot of missing parts.
Good increase in power but want to do something bigger down the road.
Finally lowered it on $300 coilovers from china haha
Really like how it sits but is quite bouncy, can't complain for $300
I've had the 4x114 volks for ages but could never run them all around as adapters made them stick out too much, finally found a set of 4x100 on Trademe for $80 (selling as trailer wheels) which are perfect for the front then 15mm adapters on the back.
I highly recommend deathmat with ccf as I had to but earmuffs for the drive home, it use to be so fuckin loud with all original insulation stuff removed by the last owner.

On the advice of a mate ended up going over to Fusion Metal Works, they are going to cut them on the plasma cutter. Really cool guys, showed me the machine and how they do it etc. Highly recommend using them, cheap as well.
Cheers for the help guys

Cheers man, at home in chch it would be a breeze but up here for uni so have a socket set and that's about it haha.
Have a few good leads atm, love oldschool for that
-
Just need a few spacing plates made up to fit my front struts, have got coilovers but the brackets are too wide (opening is 26mm, need it to be 20mm).
If anyone knows of a good place or has the equipment to do it please let me know.
Cheers guys

Haha cheers man, will keep that in mind. A pair of spring compressors may be on the list
-
I reckon I'll sign up to it tonight, cheers for the link.
As for the springs/shocks what sort of price would I be looking at?
Thanks heaps by the way, would be keen as on a hand to fit them as I've only ever replaced shocks on my beetle which is extremely simple. Yea the cars in Christchurch and I'll be back there mid November so work would happen around then.
If you don't want to post a price on here just pm me, thanks heaps man.
I would love to do it properly but we will have to see the price haha.
Also shocks that are in there at the moment are like new so just replacing the rear ones to front ones would be the go.
-
Also any help with ideas for lowering etc would be awesome
-
Yea could be the one from Turners, the guy I got it off hasn't had it for long so could well be.
No record of that though however still have original bill of sale etc which all look pretty dang cool
-
Cheers man, will investigate

Hey guys, thought I'd start a thread for my new ride.
It's a 1977 Vauxhall Chevette with 56,000km's on the clock, sold brand new in Ashburton and even stayed in the same
old bloke's garage till last year.
I paid $4.5 for it which some of you will say it a lot but it runs perfectly and the only faults are that the front number plate
has been re-mounted on the bumper and the paint is peeling off the parcel tray, easy fixes.
Discussion
Plans:
Roof rack - Acquired/bought new feet/need clamps!!
Visor - no gutters on A frame so need to get creative
White walls - flappers or painted??
Sounds - need to be completely hidden, ideas where to mount speakers??
lowering - not wanting to slam it but just need it sitting better/need to be able to chuck original springs in at any time, ideas??
Not too big of a project but will be an awesome cruiser for summer, going to take her down to Wanaka for RNA/New Years.
Second pic is obviously a photoshop but you get the idea
Tell me if pics aren't working
