  1. Ok so i think the position you guys are taking is frankly 'cunty'.

Yes lvv have gone about this wrong, but its done now and we may aswell make it swing our way.

On the form i sang praises about lvvta and its systems as i believe it 100% needs to stay, i added in the comments my minor issues with camber limits. So please stop acting like i want to ditch lvvta altogether. Bunching me in with the guy from the pages before bugs me emmensely.

Next is i 100% have taken my car through the cert process and i currently have a cert. The issues i am complaining about i had actual problems with during the cert process.

I was happy to change things that were justified, ie i lifted my car and ran skinny wheel but the camber limits did not and still do not seem justified.

They limited the height and wheel width i was able to run and overall ruined my ability to cert my car at a compromise.

  2. Im not getting upset, im trying to discuss getting things changed. I love the nz cert system but that doesnt mean that small things inside it cant be changed.

If you had the ability to change the system over in aus i know you would so why complain when we have an actual chance to change our system and are trying to.

  3. Sorry but what? the reason we have a cert system is because us/joe blog managed to have a say and form the lvvta.

Also saying that the we should stick to and not discuss changes to the current laws is stupid. Things are ever evolving and the lvvta need to work with this change.

And i agree that arguing that running tyres outside of manufacturers specs is fine is dumb. But im not gonna suddenly ban all discussion around change cause of it.

  4. All it means is that to lower those vehicles you need to work a little harder to maintain correct camber.

Gotta pay the cost to be the boss, etc.

That's just life. There's pros and cons to every vehicle.

My WB is a bit rusty..using your camber logic I should suggest minimum rusty hole size be increased to cater for vehicles of this nature.

I can see what your getting at 100%, and i did do everything possible without swapping to a whole new subframe. But i am not saying my vehicle should be exempt, i want the whole limits around camber changed for everyone.

Thing is its hardly dangerous amounts of camber, is about 2-3* at the height i wanted to cert at.

I think what im really getting at is the camber laws are too strict, they need to have more leniancy overall with the certifier able to make a judgement call on a case by case basis.

  5. Id like to follow roman in saying the camber laws are a bit ridiculous.

My toyotas irs, semi trailing arm, this setup has no camber adjustment stock and with a camber mod still has almost none. So lowering it to a reasonable height is impossible.

This is the same with a heap of other cars, beeetles probably have it the worst.

So i think that needs attention.

Also tyre limits are reasonable, if you dont like them just break them.

  6. read everywhere they were too long so went with s13 fronts, will buy the mx73 rears after ive had the front ones welded and crack tested

    my kei office s13s are a lot longer than the x73s though i haven't compared s13 bc's.

at my current height (around 37mm chassis) i have 5mm of travel before i bottom out.

also i have been quoted for just the rears, but it was $900

  7. I might be missing something here, but why not make all the changes, then get cert?

Or otherwise skip cert and save yourself the $$$ if it's going to be modified away from cert specs anyway?

most of the changes aren't things that would be effected on a cert plate. plus you'll get further with a plate than not so its 100% worth having one even if you are outside specs, easy to revert back to cert specs etc.

  8. So basically the problem is when the car is in neutral and clutch is out it is engaging and can move forward, on axle stands will spin the wheels quite quick.

i'm a noob but what? how is this possible? ignoring the clutch, how does it move forward in neutral?
