Hey, do radiator fans really make that much difference? Mine isn't working so could that be why it warms up, then heats up, then hurts?
-
Was out there today, Fitted a new water guage. But didn't have time to test. The water pump is sweet, and radiator is sweet, however, the radiator fan is not... Fix that next time I am out there.

Everything on the ECU is plugged into where it should go. Not detonation and the blower belt is slipping and putting out a whopping 0psi! Or because I havent checked that it is hooked up electrically. So may not even be engaging the clutch on it.
I'm pretty sure it is that top pipe so that is the job for tomoz morning (possibly) Not driving it again till it is solved. And I'm sticking a large bottle in the overflow to see what is happening.
Will update tomorrow.
-
Hey, we got an overflow bottle and filled it half way, then started it and it sucked the water in to fill the gap. When we arrived back, there was some leakage from a pipe I didn't stick on properly. But we will put a bolt in that pipe so we can fill it up form there. Just needa find out why it heated up really hot. Might be water pump or thermostat. Taking the thermostat out tomorrow morning. Go from there.
Also going to hook up a water temp meter and take it for a drive again and see wat happens.
-
Took her out for a whirl today, sealed up that gasket leak on the piping, flushed everything with a hose to get the rust out, filled her up and started her. No leaks, yay!
Up and down the road, sounds freakin' mean, then got very very hot.....
New problems found:
Possible water pump fail, or thermostat (Please be the thermostat!)
Supercharger pully is slipping like CRAZY! SO no boost at all.
Brakes are pooz...
But highlights is, it turns, it goes forward, it goes backwards and it's not at all slow.

Local rider, Djopen finalist at woodill djopen. Legend of a dude. At his house now. Google his name. I think something comes up. Adam diggle is his name. Dingle is just a joke. Seeing if anyone noticed.
-
Awww k, no one got my Adam dingle (Diggle) joke....
-
Ben Boyko is siiiiiiiiiiick. One of my favorite riders. Along with the guy form dust and bones, on the green stinky. Grahame aggiziv? That guy is cool. Along with Adam Dingle (DJLGNDSKUX). Those 3 are my fav.

regulars from T7 but im down to 5
Torpedo7 stuffs rubbish. Wouldn't buy something like tubes from them.
Wouldn't buy anything really from them... Been screwed around by them both times I tried to get something ages ago.
Oh the joys of working in a bike shop

Heres a few bikes
And my beast!

Tubeless also makes the ride alot softer (even on the road). But using thorn proof tubes or even using two tubes with one cut open over the other as a casing works great. ALso, T7 tubes are incredibly cheap for a reason...

Always a gamble buying someone elses half finished project, wicked that you got it going so easily!!
Hillman diff will last awhile so long as you are nice to it, avoid dumping the clutch and it should see you right until you can fund something larger.
This car could look choice with a tidy up. What are your plans? I reckon loose the dumpy muffler and restore the exterior to stock for a nice sleeper
Cheers man, yea so far this project has been full of surprises I wasn't told about... But It's all getting there.
I'm looking at putting a nicer muffler on it. But I still want that sound you get with a nice one. Undecided on that so far. Probably be doing interior before that happens though
I'm going to paint it Dark Cherry red or similar, keep it nice and clean on the outside.

I've had a look around and it seems possible with this block. AS I said, that is long term. For now I'd be stoked with hjust driving it around. Long term possibility of putting in something else in is still viable. But not for another year.
I realise it'd need a big turbo
-
O well, long term plans.
Heading out tomorrow if Dylan is there to work on gaskets and leaks and tidy up the wiring. Yay
When I start looking into power upgrades I'll get a Hilux LSD. Really want 200kw outta this (280hp) Once it's totally complete, but that aint for a bit. So not worrying now.
-
Front is coils with a strut brace and lowered with stiff springs. Stiff az
-
Lowered one leaves with lowering blocks. like 1.5 or 2 inch ones. Will see once it's running nice enough to drive what it handles like. But Mark1 escort fits right in and I see alot of guys on here running Hilux diffs in there escorts, so maybe not a bad idea. The diff looks bloody huge though, but been told it's original.
-
Anyone has a mark1 escort diff? Or a Hilux one that fits mark1 esky? Really want an LSD and mark1 escort ones bolt right in apparently. If not, how much for one of you guys to make one? I'm no where near good enough with a welder to do it

Video to come

So I bought a pump and it was screwed anyways, the guy is giving me a refund. My mechanic got one in and fuel is now flowing to the rail. But now the injectors are not opening up... More wiring yay! At least I found a decent diagram for these ECU's... Getting so rediculously close to starting
-
So, update! YAY
Went to go see the car today after school. Super stoked with CarTechNZ and Dylans work. Awesome dude and awesome work. I turn up to see him in the boot working on the fuel pump. The new one he had was screwed right from the get go and we spent about 2 hours fiddling with it, then to call the guy Dylan got it off to find out that some of them were faulty from factory... PISSED! Because we took the intake of, and with a good can of engine start, got it started for a split second! WOOHOOOOO. So, picking up my second hand fuel pump I got for 25 bux, a bosch item of some sort (gotta love 1$ reserve) and giving it to him later tonight for tomorrow.
Next problem is still the ignition coil, it heapts up quite badly. He only briefly showed me this as we were getting her started for that split second, and it was warm to touch, from the coldness it was before. So we think that the external resistor is in the wrong place. He is working that out tomorrow aswell.
I pad Dylan most of his money so far Super happy that this isn't costing any where near as much. Was quite worried for a bit. Also got rid of the surge tank, so if anyone is keen? Had 3 fitting on the top and none on the bottom. Looks about 1.5l?
So, it's Monday and I'm hoping it is working by the weekend? Would be nice hahaha.
Also, new boost gauge arrived, a nice small item 2 inches with carbon look backing, for 14 shipped My wheelnuts are on the way! Need those for the warrent
-
I think for fuel I'm going to get a pump on an old holden to run into the surge tank, and my mechanic has a fuel pump at his for 200 to run to the rails.
About the bumpers, the 1/4 thing would look good, will have to check the mounting points and everything once i get back from down south tonight. Could be a possibility.
Going to see her on Monday though and discuss her future
-
So, new fuel pump(pumps) and coil pack.
Does anyone have a working fuel pump for cheap they want to sell me? Just an average one to full up the surge tank. And if anyone has a decent one to run from the surge tank to the rails tell me aswell... Got about 150 for good one and 20-30 buks for average one.
