  1. agreed. haynes manual may be hard to find for dieseasel version but well worth the money if your gonna keep the car Too be honest guys, I've been hunting for the manul for a while now, have not yet seen any. The only reason I would sell this car will be i found a better one or a later model with 2c engine.
  2. Yeh, sorry guys, My car has Air con. the Unknown pulley IS the Air con pump. There IS a second Radiator that in front of the Engine Radiator. They are exactly the same size so I missed judged it... BTW, I done all my Driving belts. Took me a while, but next time I can do all these in a hour. What I found is I Really Need some Good Spanners!!! And Better Socket set!
  3. I'm pretty sure I only have one big radiator that's the engine one. So it shouldn't have a Air con then... but since it's a old car so all the air con components could been removed? Also, I don't feel any resistance when I spin it... hmm, will check it out tomorrow.
  4. one more question, I just noticed, on my engine there is an extra Pulley right next to the Crank Pulley and below the Tensioner (small pulley). it shares the same Belt as the the Power Steering pulley( the one on the very top?) So what is it? Air Con finally?
  5. so 1 is the Hinge, 2 is the adjuster? Lose 1 a bit, and play with 2? yeh I got it!
  6. yeh shxt man, you are good!, almost exactly the same
  7. Yeh, I did, I will get the timing belt and other stuff from you soon. I just bought the two drive belts as i need them Asap.
  8. How many nuts/bolts need to be loosen? so far i can only found one.. and didn't do anything...
  9. Yeh, I saw it, only one nut on the side. getting dark now, can't see a shit... so will do it tomorrow. If you can describe bit more in detail where the locations are, that will be great. or a diagram? Thanks a again, I was going to take the main pulley off lol.
  10. yep, the Alternator belt, it only has two pulleys, (one alternator pulley and Crankshaft pulley?) so should I take off the Crankshaft pulley? the Power steering belt has a Tensioner pulley so it is very easy to replace.
  11. How to replace the lower belt? There is only two pulleys no tensioners Do I take one the pulleys off?
  12. So hard to find them now, do they have them in the library?
  13. also noticed, there is a small piece broken off on the edge of the pulley. should I replace that?
  14. , they will charge me more than the car's worth.... so, nooooooop!
  15. , sure that would work? I'm thinking to buy rear brake shoes, water pump, tensioners, all the belts, maybe some glow plugs. I think will cost me over 300? It does get expensive, hmm.
  16. Ok Thanks bro. holy shxt... So my car doesn't have Air con then? I thought was the air con... Ok, never mind, the old belt was totally fxxked, So It's not like I fxxked up.. Now, I really have to do all the belts, including the timing belt.... Where do I get all the parts for a good price? Supercheap? BNT? Anyone got trades Card I can borrow?
  17. some of you may already know that I cut my lower Driving belt(AC belt) due to its badly worn and makes insane amount of nosie. After I cut it ,there is a yellow warning light comes on, kind of looks like brake fluid light? and I basically got no brakes. my car is 1988 corolla diesel wagon what's going on here? does the Belt drives the hydraulic or something?
  18. went to the Car show( the main event ) last year, to be honest, wasn't that impressive. just evos, stis and nissans.
  19. BNT on Main south road? that's a big store man.
  20. I don't know anyone here at all, but Can I come got a Diesel Corolla 1988 DX wagon.
  21. Hi all I spilt oil all over my drive way. I used many chemical cleaners, including engine degreaser(didn't work) and NaOH ( Blocked Drain washer) which worked. However, there are still Marks left On the Concret which I can't get rid of. So, the only solution I can think off is to use Strong disk sander/grinder to cut it off! Anyone can help me out here please? 027 566 9761 andy Thanks in advance!
  22. Kind of makes sense, the 1E being 1000cc and the 2E being 1300cc. In saying that though, horsepower only changes from 55hp to 65hp, so I would still expect the 1E to be okish in a light car. Aparant top speed for the car was 160km/h. It probably wouldn't do that now without a hill but if you are running out of puff at 100km/h chances are something is wrong, or you need to lose some weight. not running out of puff, I think it would do 120 to 130kms/h top speed, Btw, it's a 4spd, not 5spd, and I don't think this car will ever go faster than 140kms/h, i had a 1000cc charade with 5spd, that could only do 140kms/h ish. but still, yeh, maybe there is something wrong with it. When I bought the car, the owner have never changed the oil, the oil was runing extreamly low, very black and looked like sluge. so I changed the oil and filter, and it feels way better, so what's wrong with it? i will change the fuel filter sometime soon.
